Long time 👋

As we are now in the school summer holidays I have had to adjust my hours slightly to accommodate childcare.

Wednesdays & Fridays I will be leaving earlier at 5pm so if you are thinking of coming down please make sure I am still here!

These hours will be in place until September which my shorter days will be on a Tuesday & Wednesday as usual.

Other cartilage- 16+

(Under 16’s require a legal guardian present and both parties must have valid ID and a birth certificate)

I Pierce from 10 years of age, no younger.

Honestly I get asked this a lot.
Why won’t you pierce little kids? There’s a huge market!

Hot take - when they’re babies, it’s for you not them 🤷‍♀️

This is just me and my boundaries; there is no right or wrong (unless you’re Claire’s)

I pierce with needles, not guns or the fancy names ‘hand held cartridges’ (which are guns) Putting a needle near a child’s face is not how I want to spend my day.

Children don’t always listen, they don’t always follow aftercare (honestly I get it, it’s boring!) and often parents have enough to deal with without cleaning their child’s ears twice a day. But the piercer will get the blame if they don’t heal.

Healing myths- it does not take 6 weeks for lobes to heal, it’s actually more likely 4-6 months. so when your school teacher tells you to take them out for P.E, you cannot. This creates conflict and often affects healing as most people will opt to remove the piercing for school.

I’m big on consent, I think often that it is super hard for a child to fully understand the process and risks associated with piercings and this for me, makes me uncomfortable. That being said, I know some super brave kiddos that are so ready to be pierced!

Lastly, this is not a bash; I know great piercers that pierce children with needles in a safe, calm and comforting environment! Drop me a message and I am happy to recommend the girlies who I’d trust with all my piercings and your little ones too!

Almost all piercings require a downsize, let’s talk about it!

To put it simply, a downsize is something that is needed between 4 and 6 weeks after your piercing (unless oral piercings which are 2 weeks on average)

Why? Because when you are pierced, a longer piece of jewellery is inserted to accommodate for swelling.

After the initial healing period, the swelling resides and you will be left once again with a bit of space, this is when your downsize is due!

This is a really important step in your healing journey! Not downsizing can cause excess movement in your piercing channel, this leads to irritation which causes those nasty bumps and angle changes!

There are exceptions to this rule (Daith and Septum piercings) but it is always best to check with your piercer to be sure 🤍
