Choosing purpose over comfort will never make sense to everyone. But it will always make sense to you by @piercy32
Excited to share that I’ve joined the HAOS x BLDR Pro Team! About a year ago a group of friends and I decided to do something called Hyrox, and we decided to use @haostraining to prepare for the race. The amount of fitness we built in just 4 months of training was incredible so I decided to keep following the programming. During that time I knew very little of how much nutrition I needed to keep the training intensity where it needed to be so I started taking @bldrsports to fuel these long sessions I had been doing to prepare for the Hyrox and also an Ironman 70.3. Fast forward a few months I got the chance to meet and compete with some of the crew at Hybricon and their passion for fitness is clear. Blessed to be apart of such a diverse group of athletes with same mission #dontbelazy Let’s get to work ⚔️ by @piercy32
“You lack the courage to be consumed in flames and to become ashes; so you never become new, and never new again.” -Neitzsche This is one of, if not my favorite quote because it speaks to a truth most of us avoid: growth requires suffering. To become new, something old in us has to die. That might mean our beliefs, identities we’ve outgrown, or the comfort of staying unchallenged. Suffering and trauma work in the same way. They break us down, alienate us, and leave us staring at the ashes of who we once were. It feels unbearable, but it’s where transformation begins. Healing is not about escaping the fire but enduring it long enough to grow stronger. I know what it feels like to avoid the challenge, to play it safe, to hide from pain because facing it felt impossible. But every time I’ve done that, I stayed the same. Stuck. The times I actually grew were the times I had no choice but to step into the hard stuff: the heartbreak, the setbacks, the days where it felt like I was carrying more weight than I could handle. Those were the moments that stripped me down and forced me to rebuild. I’ve always been enticed by endurance sports and never really understood why until this past year when I completely leaned into it. The truth is, endurance sports mirror these challenges of suffering and trauma perfectly. Every long run, every brutal workout, every moment you feel like quitting would be easier than to push harder and finish. The pain is real, the suffering is heavy, but on the other side you discover a self you didn’t know existed. A self that only came alive because you were willing to endure. It’s not about seeking pain, it’s about having the courage to face it when it comes. Because only then do you find out what you’re really made of. by @piercy32

This is a typical Wednesday leading up to Hyrox Nashville for me. If you’ve been in the @haostraining app then you’ve seen our power hour workouts. I have tweaked it a little with the intention of a mid week tempo session with little impact on the joints. A typical hard session for me on Mondays and Fridays combines aerobic and muscular endurance efforts together but on Wednesdays I’m splitting them up to keep the intensity lower. I made a rule for myself starting with 12 calories that my heart rate had to average below a 152 (sub threshold) before I moved up another calorie the following week. Today I did 15 cals with a avg of 155 so I’ll be doing 15 again until I hit that mark. A side note - atomic pushups are the best way to get better at burpees without actually doing burpees by @piercy32
One of us just did an ultra marathon one of us runs a 28 minute 5k! You decide 😎 by @piercy32
The final leg of my six-week trip to California was arguably the most meaningful. There’s something special about these camps. People arrive nervous and unsure, but after just one day of running up the devils buttcrack, something shifts. Walls come down and strangers become a team. One of the most common conversations was about how difficult it can be to find a community like this. I can relate. But I’ve learned that while community is powerful, learning to stand on your own is what allows you to fully appreciate it. You have to learn to navigate your own journey to truly grow alongside others. Just over a year ago, I made a five-year plan to leave a comfortable, successful career that no longer fulfilled me. It took one year instead. I had help along the way, but the sacrifices, the work, and the decision to bet on myself were mine. Thank you @haostraining I will be back real soon by @piercy32
I’ve had enough of the shenanigans and side quests….time to lock in for the Nashville HYROX in 8 weeks 🫡 I’ve spent all year building my base with @haostraining - now I’m moving on to specific race prep 2 months out. Let’s get after itttttt by @piercy32
I add these finishers at the end of long hyrox workouts to expose myself to how wall balls will feel in the actual race. My main limiter in wall balls is shoulder fatigue so I’ve been hammering this EMOM twice a week! If your limiters are leg endurance or breathing, you can add a machine or squats instead of push press! Give it a go @haostraining by @piercy32
Jarvis, show them how much can change in a month by @piercy32
Cresthooch 127 I didn’t know these guys a month ago and we were tasked with helping each other through the mountains for over a day and 120+ miles. This was by far the most fun, hard and painful thing I’ve ever done. The people here made 42 hours of no sleep seem like I had got a full nights rest every day. I had doubts of whether I was actually ready for this. The most I’ve ever ran was 15 miles. I didn’t know if I was just going to survive or actually be able to race this thing. I found out a lot about myself over the weekend and I’ll carry that with me the rest of my life. Thank you @cresthooch127 @haostraining @bldrsports @alanarobinson_ @huntthesheriff @coach_red_adam @capsizedmedia @imzachcraig @st.visuals_ @titolv.studio and all volunteers for making this thing happen. Thank you, @chase5mith, @tysheppard and especially @peerlesscole for stepping up to the plate on short notice and filling out our team. Truly inspiring effort out there by everyone, and @mark.odonnell5 for grinding out 20+ miles with me @ultrarunner_alexwelch ran this whole thing by himself and I can’t even fathom how he did it. Dude is an absolute savage. He and his crew deserves all the recognition they get. 📸: @titolv.studio @st.visuals_ by @piercy32
