Marché Gare, Lyon. Un samedi soir pas comme les autres. Une date qu’on attendait depuis longtemps. Deux groupes que j’avais déjà vus, et les attentes étaient grandes.

C’est Hippotraktor qui ouvre le bal. Tout de suite puissant malgré un son qui mettra quelques instants à être optimiser. La présence scénique du chanteur me fait vibrer. Et toute la salle commence déjà à chauffer. Les premiers pogos. Les premiers frissons.

Et puis Hypno5e. Un moment suspendu. Un film. Sans interruption, ou presque. Le quatuor délivre une prestation impressionnante de technicité et d’émotions. Des morceaux choisis dans une discographie maintenant large. Allant des premiers instants et Acid Myst Tomorrow aux derniers singles sortis. Chacun des membres m’absorbe à sa façon. Un vrai moment de communion sans pourtant interagir verbalement avec l’audience. Nul besoin. La musique est là pour communiquer.

Une soirée d’exception, un Marché Gare rempli pour l’occasion. On rentre à la maison le cœur rempli.

This is the last serie of the @paleofestival with no other than the @thelastdinnerparty.I have been asked for this one for a while. Happy to finally deliver.

I am not presenting them, those 5 incredible humans really put on something different on stage. Their fans were at the rendez-vous on the crash barrier, you could feel that they were expected.

Visually, this was a rather simple set, no big light show, no fancy decor, only 5 persons and their drummer on stage, each one of them wearing a piece of art of a costume. Seriously, what a style.
If the instrumentalists kept it quite static on the stage presence... well Abigaille put on an impressive show. The photographs talk by themselves.

People, meet @miki. She toured all around Europe this summer, to my great pleasure, and she'd clearly be on my shooting list somewhere at some point.

Whether you're new here or not, you might have noticed that I do most of my work in the extreme music world. Yet that's not all I capture. I gravitate toward artists who love to go beyond the simple act of performing live. Whether by putting on a unique show for the senses, by sharing a strong connection with their audience, or simply by stepping off their cross-tape marks on stage to make you feel the emotions they poured into their music.

I didn't know Miki's music until recently. Her latest album wasn't on my radar and I completely missed her show in Lyon earlier this year. But friends told me about the vibe at her shows: "kindness", "happiness", "smiles", "contagious energy". I got curious, went through some of her interviews, and I discovered someone simple. Talking about touring, about performing, about sharing emotions on stage, like it could have been you and me. It's nothing new: I love artists who leave the cool-superstar hat backstage and come on stage with humility and friendliness. That was my why.

Miki at a festival... it's so much fun. A giant scorpion covered in doodles on stage. Songs that get stuck in your head in a split second. Fun and simple. You don't need to know her to end up with a smile on your face. She jumps everywhere until she's gotten familiar with every corner of the stage, and then... well, when thousands of people came to see you, why not say hello? It wasn't a surprise, since she'd done it several times at other festivals, but it was really cool to see it live. On "Particule", she climbed through the crash barrier to hop onto a box right in the middle of the crowd. And there, a giant circle pit opened up for a whole song. Stuck in the pit myself, I was lucky enough to have my good friend @_bienlbonsoir_ in the crowd to capture that moment up close (pics 11 to 13).

This was my second chance this year at photographing the amazing @solann_zla , this time at @paleofestival l, in the open air. Some will say an open-air show will never equal a fully-controlled venue concert, and yet, here Solann gave us so much more of herself than most artists ever take the time to during a show.

I often talk about how, to me, live shows should be about sharing emotions and stories rather than delivering a perfect studio setlist in front of people. It felt so heartwarming to hear Solann talk about the story behind some of her songs, or simply worry about her audience getting cooked by the afternoon sun.

Solann's songs are as intimate as they are brutal and dark. I love how she often describes "l'oiseau" as her happiest song, while it talks about welcoming death. It's one of my favorites in her setlist, and I wanted to share this series I created while listening to it on loop.

It took only forever to see this. Never at the right place, never the right time. There're some times where you feel doomed to never see some artists in your lifetime. It felt that way for me with @twentyonepilots over the years. And yet... 2026 was the year.

I got into the work of Tyler and Josh, surprisingly, not through their music, but through some concert photography P.O.V of Adam elmakias some 9 years ago, during their blurryface tour. Funny how sometimes live music gets to you through the visual work rather than music. I was stunned by the show: how it was built, the details, the pace, the artistic direction, the colors, the dedication put into that show. Concerts could be built with intention. Music could be felt with your eyes and emotion conveyed through storytelling. It became a bucketlist checkmark for me to one day shoot one of their shows.

Trench went by,
Scaled and icy followed,
Clancy got to me again,
Breach... Still, never a chance.

This year, they played at the Paleo festival, Switzerland... planet alined for me, scheduled and geography played along, it didn't take me long to convince my friend @_bienlbonsoir_ to come along to accompany me fulfilling an old dream of mine.

Here is a tiny part of the world of Tyler and Josh I managed to capture for @sensationrock. A privilege and an unforgettable memory.

Finally a few days to breathe between two festivals. Enough time to drop the bag, do some laundry and plan out logistics for what comes next.

The past few months have been rich in new ideas. As some know, we decided to get serious with the @_bienlbonsoir_ project with @axel.bienlbonsoir. Our ambitions are great and we still have a lot to do to get into cruising mode (will we ever be? 😁). There are so many projects in the bag, you can't imagine how excited we are!

A few days? Weeks ago, we had the chance to cover the Paleo festival in Nyon, Switzerland. The chance for us to try new formats and see how we fare together on 18h shifts for several days. Well, it was exhausting, but how fun it was 😁 among all the artists we covered, we managed to see old acquaintances we had seen before and it was a chance to see how it looks like on festival grounds. But many of them were our first glimpse at it. And excited we were at that.

Among them, it was, for Axel and I, our first chance at witnessing the show of @suzanemusique. We couldn't get access to her show in Lyon earlier this year, so we had her show high in our list. Had the chance to cross paths with the Thornhill family in Lyon while shooting with Lafayette at the Transbordeur. I could exchange a few words but priority of the day made it impossible to see their show sadly.

Yet Hellfest gave me a second chance to meet up and finally see them performing live. That was fire 🔥 by @pierre_target
