Zeebrugge coastal battery 1918 | WW1 MOC

Zeebrugge served as a vital strategic base for German U-boats and destroyers during World War I, acting as a constant thorn in the side of British maritime efforts. To safeguard this critical exit point to the North Sea, the coastline was lined with heavy coastal batteries. This wall of artillery was the primary obstacle during the famous Zeebrugge Raid of 1918, where British forces faced a devastating barrage while attempting to scuttle ships and block the canal.

A pretty small moc but I still really like how it turned out. Made this moc mostly to try out the circular wall technique so it turned out smaller than my other builds. Put together the gun quite fast so it needs some improvements. by @pigeonbricks

Armoured train "Officer"
 February 1919

The armored train "Officer" («Офицеръ») was a mobile fortress of the White Movement’s Volunteer Army, constructed in 1918 as a "land-ship" protected by heavy steel plating and armed with long-range naval guns and numerous machine-gun turrets. Manned by a crew of veteran officers, it spearheaded major offensives such as the capture of Tsaritsyn and the 1919 Moscow Directive through aggressive, high-speed strikes. It was most famous for its prowess in "railway duels," notably destroying the Red armored train Vlast Sovetam near Debaltsevo in March 1919—an engagement that resulted in the death of Lyudmila Mokiyevskaya-Zubok, the only female armored train commander in history—and disabling other notorious units like Comrade Voroshilov. Despite its string of victories and reputation as a "train hunter," Офицеръ was ultimately caught in the chaotic White retreat of 1920; unable to be evacuated by sea, it met its fate at the Novorossiysk docks, where it was abandoned and destroyed by its own crew to prevent it from falling into Bolshevik hands.

This was fun to build, very happy with how it came out. Might explore the topic of armoured trains more. All the pics with the entire armoured train visible turned out to be too long for Instagram so had to show by sections. by @pigeonbricks

Italian front, Adamello sector 1917

In the Adamello sector (WWI), fighting was happening at staggering altitudes of over 3,000 meters, a theater known as the "White War" where the environment was as lethal as the enemy. To survive and move across the jagged peaks and glaciers soldiers built wooden shacks and barracks directly into rock faces or onto steep ridges, sometimes even carving shelters. They constructed wooden walkways, iron ladders, and suspension bridges to connect isolated outposts across deep gorges and vertical cliffs.

Fighting in this sector was characterized by small-unit actions and artillery duels, with soldiers even triggering intentional avalanches to wipe out enemy positions below.
The climate was brutally extreme, with temperatures plunging to -40°C and winter snowfalls reaching depths of up to 8 meters. These conditions meant that nature was the primary killer; it is estimated that two-thirds of the casualties in the Alpine front were caused by elements such as frostbite, exhaustion, and avalanches—rather than direct military combat.

One of the hardest mocs I ever built but quite happy with how it turned out. by @pigeonbricks

Gallipoli campaign 1915
Krithia Sector

The Krithia sector was the southern land front of the Gallipoli campaign, centred on the village of Krithia (today Alçıtepe) and the dominating height of Achi Baba above Cape Helles. Intended as a first‑day objective of the April 1915 landings, it instead became the scene of repeated British, French, ANZAC and Indian attacks that advanced only a few hundred yards at a time under heavy Ottoman fire. Between April and June 1915 three major battles of Krithia failed to break the entrenched Turkish line, turning the sector into a costly stalemate that showed the failure of the Gallipoli expedition.

Didn't spend alot of time on this moc but still happy with the result.

The Battle of Sarikamish, fought between late December 1914 and mid-January 1915 between the Ottoman Empire and Russian Empire, was marked by extremely harsh winter conditions that significantly affected the outcome. The Ottoman forces were very poorly prepared for the bitter cold and rugged mountainous terrain of the Allahuekber Mountains. Temperatures dropped far below freezing, often reaching near -30°C (-22°F), with strong winds and heavy snowfall making movement dangerous. The Ottoman troops began their advance without adequate winter clothing or supplies, as they were ordered to abandon overcoats and tents to move more quickly. Consequently, many soldiers suffered from frostbite and exposure, leading to the loss of tens of thousands even before engaging in full combat. The difficult terrain and poor logistics decimated Ottoman units, cutting their combat effectiveness drastically. Meanwhile, Russian forces were better equipped with winter gear and medical support, allowing them to withstand the cold, repel the Ottoman offensive and begin a series of counterattacks, ultimately securing a decisive victory. The battle of Sarikamish is considered the biggest Ottoman defeat on the Eastern front.

Tsarytsin 1919

The Battle of Tsarytsin was a fierce struggle during the Russian Civil War between the Red and White armies for control of Tsarytsin, a key city on the Volga river. The Reds defended it against multiple White Army sieges and Cossack attacks throughout 1918 and 1919. The battle was marked by brutal urban combat and artillery bombardments. In June 1919, the White forces, reinforced with tanks and cavalry under Pyotr Wrangel, captured Tsarytsin after intense fighting, taking many prisoners. However, the Reds recaptured the city in early 1920. Tsarytsin remains as one of the most famous battlegrounds in the civil war.

I will also make a YT video for this moc.

Battle of Gorizia 1916

Old moc from like February

The Battle of Gorizia, part of the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo from August 6 to 17, 1916, was the most successful Italian offensive along the Isonzo river during the great war.
The battle and victory was more symbolic than decisive in the broader conflict, however the capture of the city boosted Italian morale and led to Italy declaring war on Germany shortly thereafter. by @pigeonbricks

Russian civil war
Battle of Orel
The Battle of Orel was a key battle during
the Orel–Kursk operation from 11 October to 18 November 1919,
part of the Russian Civil War's Southern Front.
Initially, the White tsarist army launched a successful offensive and captured Orel on 13 October.
This marked their closest advance to Moscow (330km away).
This victory represented a significant threat to the Soviet capital.
In response, the Red Army's Southern Front, reinforced by fresh troops including the Estonian Rifle Division,
launched a counteroffensive starting on 11 October.
Fierce fighting ensued as the Red shock group and the 14th Army attacked from multiple directions.
Despite initial setbacks, by 17 October the Reds committed reserves and,
after several days of intense combat, broke the White resistance.
On the night of 20 October, the White forces hastily evacuated Orel.
The Kornilov Regiment played a crucial role in the defense of Orel.
As part of the Volunteer Army’s 1st Army Corps,
the Kornilov Division initially succeeded in capturing Orel.
However, due to the Red Army counter offensive
from multiple directions including the rear of the division,
Kornilov troops along with Drozdovsky division were faced with encirclement and fierce battles,
were forced into defensive combat to halt the Red Army’s shock troops.

Mount Hermada
The Carso Plateau

For the brickcrew MOC contest
(Full moc on yt)

#thebrickcrewmoccontest2025

The Carso Plateau, also known as Karst Plateau
was a scarred battleground,
marked by trenches, bunkers and strongholds.
It was a site of many Isonzo battles from 1915-1917.
One of the fortified strongolds was Mount Helada,
a hill situated in the Carso Plateau.
Despite numerous Italian assaults,
particularly during the Tenth Battle of the Isonzo in May and June 1917,
the Austro-Hungarians successfully defended the hill,
repelling all attacks. by @pigeonbricks
