I’m really happy to be working with @sarah_ball_artist!

Sarah has a distinct ability at distilling the essence of a person. Through her singular works, Sarah captures a portrait of a generation, offering overlapping perspectives on personhood and identity. I have long admired Sarah’s unique approach to portraiture and I am delighted to start this new chapter with her.

Sarah Ball will have her first solo exhibition with the gallery in June 2027, followed by her first institutional solo exhibition in the UK at The Holburne Museum, Bath in autumn 2027, curated by Jon Horrocks.

Just unveiled! Lady in Blue is now on view on London’s Fourth Plinth.⁣
⁣
The Fourth Plinth is one of the most important art commissions worldwide and places new work by internationally renowned artists in the heart of London.⁣
⁣
Lady in Blue is the 16th Fourth Plinth commission since the programme began. The work pays homage to a young, metropolitan woman — a quotidian figure — reflecting many of today’s Londoners. The work was inspired by a desire to bring a contemporary ‘everywoman’ to Trafalgar Square.⁣
⁣
“My work Lady in Blue will bring to Trafalgar Square a woman that many can relate to. She is not an idol to venerate or a historic figure to commemorate. She is an everyday person much like the many who occupy the square daily. She is striding forward into our collective future with ambition, purpose and optimism. I have always found London to be an inspiring city, London is to thank for many milestones in my life. My first institutional show was held here in London, along with my first major gallery exhibition. I have come to know London as a truly global metropolis, and Lady In Blue reflects the sophistication of this city.” – @tschabalalaself⁣

This week’s #MondayMuse is art dealer and Pilar Corrias founder Pilar Corrias.

Since opening her first gallery in 2008, Corrias has built one of London’s most distinctive contemporary art programmes, now spanning two spaces on Savile Row and representing 39 international artists, two-thirds of them women. At its heart is a belief in backing artists for the long term, from championing Sabine Moritz before the wider market caught up to supporting ambitious projects beyond her gallery’s walls.

This September brings one of these moments into full public view, as Tschabalala Self’s Lady in Blue takes its place on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, alongside a special presentation of Self’s new work at Pilar Corrias. Frieze London and Art Basel Paris follow later this autumn.

In this exclusive interview with #TheWick, Corrias reflects on 18 years of building a gallery her way, why artists remain its most important asset, what London offers that other art capitals cannot and the legacy she hopes to leave behind.

#studioshot of #pierreknop @pierre_knop plus a shot of his painting entitled “Tümpel (Pond),” 2026, which will be in view in his “Le Sacre Du Printemps (The Rite of Spring)” exhibition at @yossimilo Gallery in #nyc beginning on September 3, 2026. Pierre depicts kaleidoscopic, dreamlike landscapes: mountains, forests, seascapes, boxing gyms, swimming pools. He begins from personal photographs, art-historical references, and memory, letting the painting evolve through what he calls “the third hand” — intuition and productive accident rather than a preplanned image. Pierre has also recently had works up at @pilarcorriasgallery @gether_contemporary . He is represented by @yossimilo and @pilarcorrias . Via @matterarthouse . by @pilarcorrias

Out now | read an interview with Sedrick Chisom for @ocula.art⁣
⁣
“History is extremely important to me, but I see myself as a painter of… I don’t want to say historiography, because even historiography is too clean. Rather, historical residue. A painter of unprocessed history.”⁣
⁣
@sedrickchisom speaks with @lydiaelizatraill about historiography and the artist’s revolutionary colour palette.⁣

Most people discuss success in the art world. Few discuss what it actually takes to build it.

Pilar Corrias opened her gallery in 2008, in the middle of a global financial crisis, at a time when others were closing their doors. She chose not to wait for the “right moment” but to create one.

Her approach reflects a deeper shift in how galleries operate today: less about reacting to the market, more about shaping it.

From backing artists early to taking risks at the primary level, her perspective reminds us that building something meaningful in the art world requires more than strategy. It requires belief.

In conversation with Pilar Corrias, Daria Borisova explores what it means to lead with instinct, support artists long-term, and build a gallery that stands the test of time.

I am delighted to share that @pilarcorriasgallery is now representing Alexis Ralaivao, in partnership with Olney Gleason, New York.

@oavialar is one of the most exciting young painters working today, distinguished by a masterful handling of paint and a nuanced, contemporary reimagining of art historical traditions. His first UK solo exhibition, Flirter avec l’abstrait, is currently on view at our Conduit Street space through 23 May and is not to be missed! taken in Pilar Corrias by @pilarcorrias
