240 hours later… SHE’S CERTIFIED! 🥹🤍✨

From self-practice and teaching hours to face-to-face training and a nerve-wracking 45-minute exam 😗 officially certified with @unitehealth / APPI!

It’s been such a fun, challenging and rewarding journey, and this is only the beginning. 🧘🏻‍♀️

I can’t wait to see where this certification takes me and how far I can go with it. Here’s to turning a passion into something more! 🥂🤍

Things I’ve been doing while waiting for my Pilates certification 🤞🏻🤍

A little bit of everything: catching up with friends, eating good food, completing my CPR & First Aid course, continuing my observation hours and practice teaching, and spending quality time with my loved ones.

Keeping myself busy while patiently (and nervously) waiting for the results 😩 by @pilates.by.tan

A little reintroduction because there are some new faces here! 💋✨

Hi, I’m Tan (or Intan, whichever you prefer 🤭)

A Sagittarius, a mum of a 3yo kid, a beginner golfer with a questionable handicap, and now officially a certified Pilates instructor!

I have a degree in Marketing Communications also Certified Dental Assistant 🦷😂but somewhere along the way, I decided to take a completely different career path and pursue something I genuinely love: movement, sports and Pilates.

Currently figuring out my 30s, building a career in Pilates from scratch, and hopefully finding my way into sports rehabilitation and performance one day. 🤞🏻

This little corner of Instagram is where I’ll be sharing the wins, the struggles, the lessons, and everything in between as I navigate this new chapter.

If you’re an aspiring Pilates instructor, a fellow career changer, or just someone who loves movement, I hope you’ll find something relatable here.

Let’s learn and grow together . And hopefully, I’ll see you in one of my classes soon! 😘💋

Love,

Things that will ACTUALLY help you nail your Pilates audition 🎀

1. Know your plan. Not just memorising the exercises, but knowing WHY you’re teaching them. What muscles are working? What’s the purpose?
2. Stop trying to create the fanciest flow. I know we all wanna impress, but complicated doesn’t always mean better. Simple movements with good execution? CHEF’S KISS.
3. You’re gonna be sucks, but keep going 🥹
4. Less talking, more moving. I used to think I needed to explain EVERYTHING to sound knowledgeable. Turns out, nobody wants a whole anatomy lecture while holding a plank 😂
5. Actually teach the bodies in front of you. Don’t just stare at your class plan. Look at how people move. Can they do the exercise? Do they need another option?
6. Know the studio’s vibe. A spicy athletic reformer studio and a clinical Pilates studio are two very different environments. Do your homework!
7. Don’t teach like someone else. You can admire other instructors without copying their entire personality. Find YOUR voice.
8. If you mess up, KEEP GOING. Wrong spring? Forgot what’s next? Don’t panic and announce it to the whole room. Adjust and move on.
9. Remember, you’re not there to prove you know 100 exercises. You’re there to show that you can deliver a safe, enjoyable and well-structured class.

And one more thing: Being nervous doesn’t mean you’re not ready. It means you care. Now go teach that class!!! 💋

Pilates Instructor INs & OUTs 🎀✨

A little reminder that we’re all still learning, growing, and getting stronger. Teach with intention, lead with kindness, and never forget that YOU are amazing too. 🤸🏻‍♀️💋 by @pilates.by.tan

A full day of wellness 🤍✨

A little reminder that movement feels soooo good when you do it with intention. Not to burn calories, not to chase a certain body, but simply to feel good, connect with yourself, and enjoy the process.

More intentional movement, good energy, and days like this, please! 🫶🏼 by @pilates.by.tan

Started with getting ready, cleaning up, testing my class plan, overthinking everything… and then finally, ready to teach. 😂 by @pilates.by.tan

And remember: no doesn’t always mean never. It might just mean not right now hehe x 🌝😗 by @pilates.by.tan

Lots of self-practice.
Lots of teaching practice.
Studying every single day while I was in Bali. 🥹

I did my exam yesterday… and I PASSED! 🥹😭

It was hard. I was panicking because the clock was ticking, but I got through it.

What’s next? 👀
I have to film a 45-minute class for my final assessment.

So tonight, I’m back to working on my class plan and studying hard again. 📚🧘🏻‍♀️

One step closer to becoming a certified Pilates instructor. 🤍 by @pilates.by.tan
