Original audio so you can hear my amazement and appreciation for this display of grace and strength by @anya_movementmethod 😍

I’m so blessed to have met kind colleagues like her (and many others) who create a non-toxic + uplifting + respectful community.

Happy to announce that I not only lived through the hour-long session, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Took some clips (okay; I lied, I filmed nearly the whole hour 🤣) and pieced some of the fun bits together for y’all.

Can’t wait to share these with everyone back in Abu Dhabi!

P.S. It was so nice to meet you @rimafaourz, @byannabella_ ❤️ And to be able to give @fiona_marie_pilates a big sweaty hug before she started her session was such a huge plus 🤣 by @pilatesv.ae

Guaranteed Incredulous looks when the cue is to go from lunge to plank 😂

To get to the plank position, mobility is a given. What is also necessary is a deep understanding of how to use your deep core muscles, shoulder stabilisers, quads, hip flexors and glutes to find that lift on a sliding carriage.

One blue spring is the perfect tension for me. Give it a shot! by @pilatesv.ae

🤯 Well, I’ve never it this way before!

“Now I can see that you’re working” as Murat Berkin so gleefully said.

Guys, my mind was absolutely blown. Who would’ve thought that Short Spine could be so… unenjoyable 😂

Super excited for my experienced babies to try this! by @pilatesv.ae

Original sound for your pleasure 😂

I was sick out of my mind for over the week, but managed to drag myself out of bed to attend this workshop by 2nd Generation Classical Pilates teacher, Murat Berkin.

I experienced many firsts that day but the one that sticks out — it was my first time on a classical reformer (beautifully made by @legacypilates), being taught the classical repertoire, by someone who learned the Joseph Pilates method almost from the source.

Much of the information shared to us bewildered me, because it was so vastly different from what I’ve learned (and observed) over the last few years.

I mean, seriously awesome mind-blowing moments happened (DM me to find out more) 😂

Thanks to @themethoduae for hosting this workshop, and to Murat and @burak.yldrim1 for their wonderful guidance! Can’t wait to share with the rest of you through my classes ❤️ by @pilatesv.ae

The looks I got from this series 😆

Bewildered.
Agonised.
Irritated (lol).
Relief (when it’s over 😂).

I love it when a move hits you where you least expect it!

This Longbox series also gives you a wide range of opportunities to create a smooth flow. After the planks, you could throw in the classic Quadraped Foot in Strap series or a seated roundback backrowing series.

Save to try! by @pilatesv.ae

Slow saturdays on dnd mode 🧘🏽‍♀️ by @pilatesv.ae

So you’ve set a goal, made a plan and took your first class. It is indeed tough to overcome the inertia to start moving.

But it is actually harder to be consistent.

That’s where community comes in: people you look forward to seeing in class (and bit*h with 😆)

Where your instructor(s) come in: one that you vibe with, who empathises not just with your pain points but what helps you FEEL strong and powerful.

It also helps if you both share the same sense of humour.

I have been fortunate to have found my community and instructors (@jasmink_pilates @itsmemarwaanwar @healthy_gangsta @adele_pilatesabudhabi @mariar.beyond @yogi_adiyog @gabylee_pilates ) early in my practice.

I started with one class a week, and in a few weeks, went twice a day, sometimes five days a week.

I could only get stronger and overcome the effects of GBS, which left me out of stamina, strength and mobility.

What’s your motivation to go to class? by @pilatesv.ae

Fabulous opportunity to transition to the forearm plank and many other outrageous core movements such as the pike 😂

In this position: the heavier the springs, the harder to execute the pull in so play around with no springs, light or medium to start ☺️

Hot tip: check your feet position. SO important! Save to try and let me know how it went! by @pilatesv.ae

Nuff said 💪

Looking forward to finishing the year healthier and stronger with everyone! by @pilatesv.ae

I thought I wasn’t but … I did it 😙🎉🥳

Thanks to @ricardo.jaramillo.pilates for inspiring me to try this really cool move, with a slight variation (I’m in Pilates V as opposed to parallel toes).

The big range of articulation really gave my spine the massage it needed today.

Now that I know how to do it, I can teach it. Who wants to tryyyyyyy 🥰 by @pilatesv.ae
