Not because there’s nothing to say, but because we don’t always know how to turn our feelings into words.

Then we stop trying.
Let things be.
Let the world beat us.

CARRY NO THINGS — 2026 STATEMENT POST

4 months. 7 countries. Countless stories.

This journey is not only about the places I’ve been — but about how a person changes along the road.
How old versions fall away, new layers emerge, and slowly the self that remains becomes visible.

From this journey, two works are being created:

• a film
• a book

Two different forms, two different voices — born from the same experience. Both “carry” the same title:

Carry No Things.

This is not a promise. Not a resolution.

It is already on its way.

4 hónap. 7 ország. Megszámlálhatatlan történet.

Ez az utazás nem csak helyekről szól — hanem arról, hogyan változik közben az ember. Ahogyan a régi ének leválnak, új rétegek születnek, és lassan kirajzolódik, ki marad ezután.

Ebből az útból két alkotás készül:

• egy film
• egy könyv

Két külön mű, két külön hang — ugyanabból az élményből. Mindkettő címe:

Carry No Things.

Ez nem ígéret. Nem „újévi fogadalom”.

Ez már történik.

Place I Left Behind - Budapest, Hungary.

The biggest adventure of my life:
For the first time, I’ll be living abroad – and at 30, I feel that the time is finally right. I’ll be moving through different places that will become part of my journey, but for now, I’ll keep their names hidden, to be revealed later as the story unfolds.

For years I felt my life wasn’t heading in the right direction. I wasn’t doing what I truly loved, and I often found myself stuck in a loop of expectations and norms that never really belonged to me. I went through darker times, fought with depression, and realized that if I didn’t make a change, I would lose myself completely.
So I decided to break out – from routines, from what society tells us is “the way,” and from the version of myself that no longer felt alive. And just to be clear — I’m not running away. This journey is not about abandoning my home, my family, or my friends. It’s about searching — for myself, or for a part of me that feels lost. It’s simply about finding out who I am when I step outside of everything familiar.

And of course, politics plays its part too, because it shapes us all in ways we can’t ignore. But I’m not leaving forever — I’ll be back by April, in time for the elections. Now, what I want is freedom. To see the world. To find and tell stories. To create. To write. To live … a life that I believe in, and most of all, finding myself along the way.

That’s how PILB was born – my very personal (life) project. It’s an indie diary of filmmaking and life: It makes me closer to finding my true voice, to freedom, and to finding my own way.

For the first time, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to see what life truly feels like: On the road.

AFTER THE FALL, COMES THE RISE
One year ago, I set out on the greatest journey of my life so far.
4 months. 7 countries. More than 60 cities. 14,000 km’s, by car.

Countless places, people, stories, adventures, fears, realizations, and moments I am still processing to this day…
Because this intense adventure didn’t end when I got home. In fact, that’s perhaps when it truly began.

It wasn’t enough to simply experience the changes and realizations that came with the journey.
I had to learn to hold onto them and process them, while letting go of everything I no longer wanted to carry with me.

When I set out, I didn’t know exactly where I was heading. But I knew that something had to change.
Since then, I have returned to where I started. To my home. But this place means something different to me now, too.

Everything has changed. And I returned as a different person. The journey taught me so much.
I faced things I hadn’t been able to or hadn’t wanted to face before. There were obstacles I had to overcome, and things I simply had to let go of.
I believe everything that has happened to me since then is thanks to that journey.

I’ve been quiet regarding PILB lately.
But that silence wasn’t idleness, it was inner work.
It gave me time to properly process everything that had happened, all while making progress on other projects.
Together with @cineonstudio , we began building our own world, and I allowed everything the journey had offered to fall into place.

Now, a year after the launch, the world of *Place I Left Behind* is opening up again.
And this time, I have three things in store.
I’ve dropped a few hints about them before, but more details are coming soon, and what I’ve been working on lately will finally become much more tangible.

I’ve named this next chapter:
AFTER THE FALL COMES THE RISE.
This isn’t just another project, it’s the motto for an entire era. After all, we fall into the depths so that we can learn how to climb back out.

There is a way back from anywhere.

FIRST YEAR OF PILB

One year ago, an exciting solo life project began — a “journey” called Place I Left Behind.

What started as travel slowly became something much deeper.

This project was born during difficult periods of my life.
In many ways, PILB became a form of self-care — a way to move forward, reconnect with myself, and find meaning again through movement, people, art and creation.

So for this milestone, I wanted to share a few things I’ve never fully written about before:

Why the title?
Because Place I Left Behind is not only about physical places.
It also carries a more personal meaning: leaving behind darker mental spaces, old versions of yourself, and learning how to move forward again.

Why was PILB created?
To document journey(s) through places, people, thoughts and change.

How has it changed?
What started as a personal travel project slowly became an artistic and human exploration.

Where is it heading?
Towards films, stories, community, and something much bigger than I originally imagined.

The images in this post capture some of the milestones from this first year.

Pálmalevél.

Ősidők óta a szabadság (🇭🇺), az újjászületés, a béke és a győzelem szimbóluma.

Egy legenda szerint a pálmalevelek az élet helyes útjára mutatnak rá — hitet és önbizalmat adva annak, aki megtalálja őket.

Ezért döntöttem úgy, hogy rám kerül.
Nem divatból.
Nem (csak) az utazás emlékének.
Hanem iránytűnek.

Az elmúlt időszakban sokat gondolkodtam azon, merre akarok menni, és miben hiszek igazán.

Ami biztos: alkotni akarok.

Filmeket.
Történeteket.
Gondolatokat.

És mindezt úgy, hogy közben más alkotókat és a munkájukat is figyelem, megismerem, követem!

Mert hiszem, hogy a művészet nem verseny.
Hanem párbeszéd. És közös munka. És ami a legfontosabb: Közösség(ek)!

Ezért külön öröm számomra, hogy ezt a fontos lenyomatot egy fantasztikus művésszel együtt hozhattuk létre.

Palm leaf.
Since ancient times it has been a symbol of freedom (🇭🇺), rebirth, peace and victory.
According to legend, palm leaves point toward the right path in life — giving faith and confidence to those who find them. That is why it is now part of me.
Not as fashion.
Not only as a memory.
But as a compass.
Lately I have been thinking a lot about where I want to go and what I truly believe in.
One thing is certain:
I want to create: Films.Stories. Ideas.
And to do so while discovering other creators and their work. Because I believe that art is not a competition.
It is a dialogue. A shared process. That is why it means a lot to me that this mark was created together with an amazing artist.

Egy hónapja értem haza
Elindultam, hogy újraértelmezzem magamat és közben visszataláltam ahhoz is, ami mindig adott volt, mégis újra meg kellett értenem: honnan jövök és hova tartozom.

Az utam messzire vitt, de nem elszakított
- hanem visszahozott.

Azóta erősebben érzem:
ezt a helyet. a nyelvet. a közösséget. a tekinteteket…

És azt is - hogy mozgásban van körülöttünk minden
és hogy a változás elindult.
A dolgunk továbbra is az, hogy tegyünk azért, hogy jobbak (és jobban) legyünk - nem csak hangzatos szavakkal, hanem tettekkel, apró gesztusokból épülve. Ilyen akár: Egy mosoly. Egy kedves szó… tehát úgy, hogy egymás felé fordulunk és támogatjuk egymást.

Van egy nagy közös ügyünk.
Egymás mellett, együtt - nem egymás ellen.

Így kezdődik. Apró lépésekkel.

Place I Left Behind — Europe
- Küldetés teljesítve

Autóval körbejártam Európát.
6 munkahely, 7 ország, 60 város, 113 nap (közel 4 hónap), kb. 15 000 km.

Az út - fizikai része - ezzel lezárult.
De a munka most kezdődik igazán.

Az elmúlt hónapok során készített - és átélt - anyagokból két alkotás születik majd:

egy könyv és egy film.

Írásban és vizuálisan is feldolgozom mindazt,
amit ez az út adott — helyeket, gondolatokat, pillanatokat, barátokat, élményeket…

Köszönöm mindenkinek, aki bármilyen formában része volt ennek az útnak! Remélem jöttök tovább!:)
