Boyan Karen Merry Joyce Behrmann
30.03.1939 - 05.10.2025

Our beloved mother left us last night at 0:55h.
She died as she always predicted:
in Freiburg in her own bed, peaceful and without pain.

Her death came very unexpected. we children had organised her next stay,
where she would have had better access to daycare.
I also was planning to move nearby to accompany her in the change
and for the coming years.

She was a very strong woman, born in South Africa, lived in South America,
And reinvented herself after the divorce by moving to the black forrest
In 1987 and starting a career as writer and language teacher.
The place she chose as her home and final place to live.

We had our challenges with her character, she was a very stubborn Aries,
Born the very same day I did, yet she is possible the most loving,
Caring and forgiving person I have ever experienced.
Her empathy was enormous. Her own childhood trauma a heavy burden.
Always well dressed, with a young spirit, charm and grace, she had a unique touch
for making a place or moment special and memorizable while pushing problems aside.

I add a video from her singing one of her favourite songs.

“Why Worry”

We are all in deep grief for this loss of our dearest mother,
to whom we thank endlessly of the efforts and warmth she has shared.

You are free now, independent as you always wanted to be.
We love you forever.
