As part of @smth.art last open call, we were asked to explore around the topic of “Worldbuilding”, coming up with this motion piece, Urbanism Through Self-Consumption. Being digital art its core, we worked with nothing but AI tools on today’s main crisis: rural exodus and inhabitable cities, reaching a chaotic outcome. In a city with no room to expand, architecture stops building and starts devouring. Structures no longer rise from the ground, they emerge from the collapse of others. Balconies give birth to buildings, urban skins break, and streets curve inward in a desperate cycle of survival.This is a self-consuming ecosystem where mass is violently recycled until it condenses into the void.
