I get to finally show you all a snippet of the novel I’ve been working on all year for @roundtablementor. It is a fantasy-horror based on Thai folklore. It is a story about ambition, the cost of innovation, and what it means to be a monster. This is a story for all the outsiders eager to carve a space for yourself in a world that won’t let you — no matter the cost 😈🙊 it’s features stabby sapphics, trans and genderqueer characters doing crime.

I have had the greatest pleasure of being mentored by @samjamtimtam who has answered all my questions with such patience, taught me so much about writing, crafting a story and how to improve my existing skills. It has been such a cool year to write and I have never felt more inspired. Sam is so so cool and I’m so glad to have been mentored by her!

shoutout to that dad who told his kids “they’re probably dressed up for book week”

but anyway! I’ve been side questing a lot recently — maybe because I’ve been needing a distraction from the relentless grind of rewriting and writing and writing. And somehow, all of this comes back to how much I love witch hat atelier by @pimwrites

sometimes when you’re drafting and you don’t feel like you’re getting anywhere it’s nice to have a reminder that there are people who read your bad drafts and still loved them 💛💛

Today I had the great joy of attending @cookbookclub_naarm event for Thai Anywhere and Everywhere. It was cool to see so many people enjoy Thai food and get to meet new people.

It was also awesome to meet @nattywolf , who wrote recipes in a very accessible way. I made khua kling, a southern thai dry curry pork stir fry! Giving people an accessible avenue to explore the wide array of Thai food is a momentous task but this book is a great taster of the many different foods out there.

It makes me super excited to one day share my novel with people and share my lens of Thailand.

I’m currently learning how to write Thai so I’ve been trying to caption both in English and Thai ☺️

Ok so I woke up at 4am today to the BEST NEWS! But then I promptly fell asleep again😂

I am so thrilled to tell you all that I was selected for @roundtablementor and that I’m getting mentored by @samjamtimtam for the next year on my YA fantasy novel. Her words of encouragement and excitement makes me super eager for the year ahead. I can’t wait to improve my manuscript under her guidance and become a better writer 🥰🙏 by @pimwrites
