You are a leader whether you see yourself as one or not.

Because you are the architect of your life.

Maybe you also lead a family.
A team.
A business.
A community.
A legacy.

And if you’re anything like the leaders I know, you’ve probably spent time questioning yourself while carrying the weight of what matters most.

That’s why I created Piñata Possible.

Not as another leadership framework.

But as a bridge home.

A place where leaders can break open what no longer serves them and reconnect with the wisdom, clarity, and power that have been within them all along.

I believe we can create extraordinary results without losing ourselves in the process.

I believe joy and impact belong together.

I believe a more human way of leading is possible.

And I believe that possibility already lives within you.

We’re building a new paradigm of leadership—one that centers wholeness, humanity, and courage.

Not everyone is ready for that shift.

But those who are can feel it calling.

So if this resonates...

Welcome home. 🪅💛

Sometimes the path we end up on starts with a decision we were sure we weren’t going to make.

Laura Saldivar Luna told me about her Teach For America story, and I loved how much uncertainty was packed into the beginning of it.

She met the recruiter at Georgetown and immediately thought: There is no way I’m applying for this.

Too selective.
Too intimidating.
And besides, everyone had already decided she was going to be a teacher.

Laura had other plans. She wanted to prove—to herself and to everyone else—that she could do all the things.

So she didn’t apply.

The deadlines passed.

And then an email arrived from Teach For America about a one-year fellowship at their New York City headquarters, where she could learn how the nonprofit actually worked.

A different door opened.

I think about how often we define our lives by the opportunities we think we’re supposed to pursue—or the ones we’ve already decided aren’t for us.

Sometimes the most interesting chapters begin somewhere you weren’t even looking.

It’s been a longtime dream of mine to start my own YouTube channel—a place to house a living library of leadership lessons to support and uplift others.

That dream became a reality two months ago, thanks to the support of @maritza.artola and @contentcrawltx.

Together, we’ve produced and published 17 videos. Today, we captured footage for 11 more videos that will be shared over the course of the coming quarter.

Filming day includes a lot of laughter. I’ve learned to embrace my awkwardness and not take myself too seriously.

Each take is another opportunity for me to get more comfortable finding my voice and refining my message. I’m learning through trial and error, and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way.

Thank you, @theloft_creativespace , for being the backdrop for our videos today.

May the Piñata Possible YouTube channel find the leaders who need it, and may it be of service to them on their path.

We spend so much of our lives learning how to override ourselves.

Push through the exhaustion.
Ignore the discomfort.
Keep going.
Do what’s expected.
Be “resilient.”

In my conversation with Laura Saldivar Luna, she talked about what she’s learned in this second chapter of her leadership: how to reconnect with the wisdom of her body.

Because the body is communicating with us all the time.

A clear yes.
A clear no.
Something that feels aligned.
Something that doesn’t.

But we get really good at ignoring those signals. Sometimes because of the systems around us. Sometimes because of ambition. Sometimes because we’ve spent so many years believing that the answer is simply to keep going.

Laura described reconnecting with that wisdom as a compass for navigating uncertainty toward the path she actually wants.

I loved that.

And then, because this is RONderings and not a leadership conference, she reminded me that strawberries help, too.

Sometimes wisdom is slowing down enough to actually savor something.

#RONderings episode DROP!

In my late twenties, as a national office manager at Teach For America, I hit my outcomes. But what made me good at the job was something no rubric measured. People trusted me, so they showed up for me.

That relationship acumen was never celebrated the way results were. In most workplaces, it still is not.

Laura Saldivar Luna saw the cost of that gap from the top, as Teach For America's Chief People Officer. Her read: it is easy to get results at the expense of our humanity, and that is not what we want for our kids.

Now, through Piñata Possible, she helps leaders get great results without giving up the human part.

Trust is not a soft skill. It is how the work gets done.

We talk a lot about “networking.”

Laura Saldivar Luna reminded me that sometimes the most powerful form of networking is simply… having a conversation.

In our RONderings conversation, Laura said she believes a one-on-one conversation is one of the greatest tools of organizing—and one of the greatest tools for really knowing another person.

I couldn’t agree more.

Not every conversation needs an agenda. Not every relationship needs an immediate ask. Sometimes you get curious about another person, sit down together, and see what emerges.

A new connection.
A friendship.
An idea.
A partnership.
Something neither of you could have predicted.

I’ve built so many relationships in my life this way. Not through some elaborate networking strategy, but through a simple willingness to say: “Let’s talk. I’d like to get to know you.”

That feels especially important right now, when so much of our professional lives can become transactional.

Laura’s invitation is a good one: If something in this conversation sparks your curiosity, reach out. Have the conversation. See what emerges.

Her full RONderings episode drops Wednesday.

Breakdowns are not bad. They are helpful signals to pause and reset.

I treat breakdowns as clues and cues from my body that something needs to be restored, repaired, or realigned.

It’s an invitation to pause, check in with what’s working (and not working), and let yourself crack open to reveal what wants to emerge.

A lot of people avoid breakdowns for fear that they will never recover. Or they pretend breakdowns aren’t happening and miss essential opportunities to repair fractures before they worsen.

You need not make yourself bad or wrong for experiencing a breakdown. You’re at the precipice of a breakthrough if you allow it.

The more we practice owning the moments of breakdown—in ourselves, in our relationships, in our organizations—the more power we have to choose how we respond.

Such empowered responses can actually lead to an expanded sense of freedom that may not have occurred had we not allowed the old ways to break down.

The next time you notice something feels off or misaligned, declare the breakdown, and pause to return to your power to make a new way forward.

Music, movement, and extra “me time” for deep reflection are my essential strategies for bouncing back from a breakdown.

What if the success you spent years building… is no longer the success you want?

That question has been sitting with me since my conversation with Laura Saldivar Luna.

Laura talks about being in a season of “re-imagining and redefining what success can look like”—on her terms, in a way that honors everything that got her here.

I love that distinction.

Because redefining success doesn’t mean dismissing the version of yourself who got you to this point. It means being honest enough to ask: What is still serving me? What am I ready to reimagine? And what do I actually want now?

Those questions can be uncomfortable, especially when you’ve built a career and a life that, from the outside, looks successful.

But sometimes the breakdown is what creates the opening.

Laura describes this next chapter as uncertain, alive, fun—and “ripe for what’s next.”

That feels like a beautiful place to be.

Thank you, @deadflowertearoom , for being such a warm and welcoming environment. 🥀

🫖🍵 Not only am I always grateful for a beautiful pot of tea, I am also so grateful that spaces like this exist. They remind us to savor life fully.

I truly believe that slowing down is the key to accelerating progress.

With this pot of tea and the beautiful records playing in the background, I was able to set intentions and goals for the coming quarter, month, and week ahead.

When life gets chaotic, these are some of my go-to practices for restoring myself and returning back to center.

1️⃣ REST: Lots of people skip this because they believe it will deter them from their goals or slow their progress. On the contrary, rest is one or the most important accelerants of progress when used proactively and as an ongoing practice. I’ll be teaching on this topic a lot more in 2027.

2️⃣ REIGNITE YOUR ENERGY: There are many ways to reignite your energy. I love movement and music. Pro-tip: Make a list of your go-to strategies for lifting your energy so you can refer to it when times are tough. Future You will be glad you planned ahead.

3️⃣ RE-ENVISION THE VISION: When the problems of the past and present are weighing you down, this is a perfect time to revisit your vision for the future and bring it into focus. A clear and inspiring vision is like a magnet for action. Pair the vision with reignited energy, and you’ve got a winning combo for getting unstuck.

Which of these restorative practices is your favorite? by @pinatapossible
