It’s back-to-back, back-to-back sets this weekend, Fri through to Monday! Excited to play with @Jasminhoek, Beatrice M. @Bait__Music, and @Darwin_Reef, all for the very first time - and of course, @Lizzy_Proverb.

Is it a football song?!

This track wasn’t produced with the World Cup in mind and it’s not really about football but it also kind of is.. Lucky that England clawed back a win last night or it might be dropping to a bit of a sour mood here today!

I always love working with @trimtali - it’s become an instictive process. This latest cut brings out the kind of passion and emotion that comes with following your team, feeling the tension of being a goal behind, but coming out in the 2nd half and making it all happen.

SPOTLIGHT: DEEP DIVE INTO TECTONIC RECORDINGS

Started in 2005 and having just celebrated it's 20th anniversary last year, @tectonicrecordings is a mainstay in the UK club music scene. Started by @pinch_tectonic after he felt the need to bring the London-originating dubstep sound to Bristol, it's since mutated into a home for all sorts of fwd-thinking bass.

Constantly seeking out cutting-edge and experimental sounds, under Pinch's guidance the label has platformed and nurtured a range of talent, helping foster a distinct community in Bristol.

Providing a home for artists as wide-ranging as @shed030 @reni_ldn @yushh____ @lounouronline @cocktailpartyeffectmusic @waltonmcr + lots more, the label now flits between techno, grime, dubstep and more experimental-edged sounds, all in a way that still has its characteristic flavour.

A special mention goes to Beatrice M (@bait__music) and their recent *incredible* LP, Sinking. Long live Tectonic! 🥂 by @pinch_tectonic

JoyLift take over The Goods Shed on Saturday 30 May, opening one of Seasoning’s deepest channels into the hardcore continuum.

Josey Rebelle brings a selector’s intellect, providing animus to the sonic histories flowing in the room: techno, jungle, electro and Black dance music traditions held together with equal parts force and care. Grounding this… Mantra + Pinch feels like a statement in pressure and lineage, with Rupture’s jungle futurism meeting Tectonic’s Bristol dub architecture.

EM + STAV complete the circle, carrying JoyLift’s UK club mutations into the Goods Shed: technoid swing, bassweight, half-lit psychedelia and dancefloor pressure tuned for full immersion.

Dub is the source.
Soundsystem is the method.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: @pinch_tectonic

The artist known as Pinch has been a mainstay of the dubstep and bass world for 20 years now, with his label @tectonicrecordings having had a seismic impact (hehe) on underground UK dance music culture.

Having been relentlessly pushing boundaries for so long, now more than ever he's been showing why his presence in the scene is such a vital one.

As a producer, he's responsible for outright dubstep anthems 'Qawwali' and 'Punisher' (slides 2 + 3), whilst his album 'Underwater Dancehall' is a timeless classic, blending cavernous, spacious beats with vocals to great effect (slide 5)

Rather than coast on past glories, he's always got one eye on the future and that's what makes him such a perfect fit for Unbound. Having previously linked up with Pev for the 'In Deep' mix in 2018 (slide 9), we can't wait to see what they bring for us 🔥 🔥
