My best friend @chinedu_jmo1 married his best friend @evierusmanokonkwo this weekend. It was ✨ perfect ✨

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching these two fall so deeply in love.

My brother once described loving Evie as feeling like he was loving another part of himself. At the time, I thought it was beautiful. But over the years, I’ve come to understand exactly what he meant. Because I’ve watched them become so intertwined that loving one another seems as instinctive as breathing.

Recently, life has asked more of them than it ever should have. They’ve walked through things that could have broken them, and somehow, I’ve watched them reach for each other even more fiercely through it all.

I’ve watched love become more than words. I’ve seen it in the showing up. In the holding on. In choosing each other, again and again, especially when life has made that choice the hardest.

I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed devotion quite like theirs. A love so unashamed, so tender and so completely out loud.

And when I think about the kind of love I hope to have one day, it looks a lot like this.

To love someone, and be loved by them, with your whole heart. Through the beautiful parts and the unbearable ones. To keep choosing each other through all of it.

That’s the kind of love I strive for.

That’s the kind of love I want forever.

A few little reminders I’ve been coming back to lately because sometimes you don’t need a life overhaul, just a slightly better mindset Xo
