This was sort of a nightmare to make, but it was fun and I really really should have planned a little bit better before I started, I would’ve been like absolutely toast without some help ;-;

ITS MY 23rd BIRTHDAY! 🎉
When I was a kid growing up, my family did a tradition called our “Golden Birthday.” When you turned the age that was the same as the number of the day, it was your golden birthday and it was extra special ✨
I don’t know if it always meant we did anything in particular, but man being extra special was of course pretty convincing for little Elyott 😂
.
My little brothers got theirs on their 6th and 13th birthdays respectively, and I remember complaining that “I had to wait allllll the way until I’m 23” which was aggggges away.
.
The funny thing is, now it’s here.
All those lessons, all those friends, the celebrations and achievements, the mistakes and things I missed, alll those years. It felt like forever but we’re here now??
.
This year I’m both more confident and more self-critical than I’ve been in a long time. I had great new experiences that helped me learn more skills and become a more confident person, but also faced the consequences of my choices, even when my intentions were good. I’m learning that I can’t control every part of a situation, and I can still learn and notice my blind spots without defining myself by other’s unfiltered feelings. I think that I’ve experienced a lot of loss this year and I’ll be honest, it was pretty terrible. Even when my brain told me conflict meant danger, I’m still here, and I survived.

Yesterday I learned something important I think. I wanted acceptance so bad, that I was willing to be conditional with my love for myself just to make sure I was good enough for others to want unconditionally love me too. Paradoxical am I right?

A blender recreation of a photo I found on Pinterest. I’m trying to do test to see what I want my backgrounds to look like on my Capstone and this was my first attempt, but I think I still wanna play around some more with it. I tried really hard to find out who the original artist was, but it seems kind of lost to the wind. I’ve been learning how to do unity, shaders, programming, and overall development for the past seven months, I finally gotten to a point where I can make a proper level with a roaming AI, a proper floor I can walk around on and cameras that I can switch between. Just recently I started learning about shaders and my next goal is to try to make lighting shaders like the water reflections on the ceiling and particle systems, stuff along those lines, but so far I’m really happy with how far I’ve come and it’s great because a lot of my new job involves working with unity, and I am learning a lot at home as well as at work.

Overall, it’s just really exciting to actually like see a result from all this work in the long run :3
I look forward to seeing what the future holds lol
