I picked up crepe paper at 40. By 50, my work was in the Cleveland Museum of Art. Author of The New Art of Paper Flowers & host of @papertalkpodcast

The Cleveland Museum of Art is in bloom — even inside our galleries! 🌹🌷🌹🌷🌹

Ellen S. and Bruce V. Mavec Curator of Decorative Arts, Ada de Wit, recently worked with professional paper flower artist, Quynh Nguyen, to bring our newly acquired Flower Pyramid to life. The addition of paper flowers to this six-tiered ceramic piece helps to provide context for the function of the Flower Pyramid. 🌼

Inspired by the neighboring painting, Flowers in a Glass by Ambrosius Bosschaert, Quynh spent a month and a half painting, cutting, and sculpting each bloom by hand, transforming sheets of paper into lifelike petals and leaves.

I am so honored to be in this winter issue of @wherewomencreate

Thank you to @bluestarpress and @kellylemon @makeupartist.angela @megslobrien_ @fromseagirl for helping me make this article happen and make me look so beautiful.

The confidence you can radiate when you know you look good is key, and knowing that the team you put together is there to celebrate you only makes it easier. It didn’t happen overnight.

I’ve known Kelly for over 10 years now, Angie for at least eight because she did my makeup and hair when I made my first local TV appearance in Seattle, Megan for more than 3 years now, helping me record behind the scenes videos and edit them, and lastly, Kasia has been such a wonderful friend to help me do all the things everyone else couldn’t do.

Gather your people that support and love you, and you will go far.

Despite lacking fragrance, these paper creations are astonishingly lifelike, never succumbing to wilting or fading. @conorknighton interviews artists like @pinkandposey who craft impeccable peonies, vibrant pansies, and oversized roses using just paper, paint, and glue. by @pinkandposey

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm truly blown away by all your support. Thanks to all of you, I made it into the Top 20 of Top Host, out of more than 1,500 people who entered.

When I clicked on that Instagram ad on a whim a few weeks ago, I never imagined so many of you would show up for me like this.

I didn't expect this long a process, but after some research, I found out there are a total of five rounds:

• Oct 22 to Oct 29: Top 10
• Oct 29 to Nov 5: Top 5
• Nov 5 to Nov 12: Group Finals
• Nov 13 to Dec 10: The national rounds, where votes reset to zero each round

Looking forward....but first another massive thank you to everyone who made our first annual Snohomish in Bloom a blooming success! 🌸✨ From the stunning floral installations downtown to the vibrant market and sold out workshops, our community truly came alive with color.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our board members, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this vision to life.

I’m working on something a little different. Working on SOE right now and hope to share it soon. Nageire style of Ikebana. Ever since I went to Japan and worked with @hitomigilliam this past year, I have been fascinated by ikebana. I can understand why it takes a lifetime to master this art. I hope to do it justice.

Sometimes it’s easier to cut smaller strips of paper and use @modpodgecrafts in smaller increments, plus it dries faster. But usually, when I have some downtime, I Mod Podge 10 sheets or more and store them between parchment paper so they don't stick together. That way, I always have painted Mod Podge crepe papers ready for any projects I need it for, instead of taking the time to do it and waiting for it to dry. taken in Seattle, Washington by @pinkandposey

My very first time in Mexico, and I couldn’t think of a betterseason to bring paper flowers.

Join Dani @floralworkshops.cdmx @dani.vazquez.m and @pinkandposey on October 31 and November 1 in Roma Norte to make a wearable floral crown with crepe paper garden roses and fresh marigolds.

All supplies included, plus lunch with a view of the festival.

This October, @dani.vazquez.m @floralworkshops.cdmx and @pinkandposey are hosting a two-day paper and fresh floral crown workshop in Mexico City during Día de los Muertos. We will be in her studio in Roma Norte, learning to sculpt garden roses in crepe paper, building a lightweight wearable crown using a modified version of Hitomi Gilliam’s crown mechanics, and on the first afternoon, walking out to watch the festival together over lunch. On the second day, we'll work with fresh flowers to weave them into the floral crown.

One day, I hope to bring my husband and family to the Cleveland Museum of Art to stand together in front of my paper flowers and share how I made them, how I came to understand them, and how I made the flowers to pair with the tulipiere vase.
