Queen of Shadows By Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Revenge has entered the chat. πŸ₯² This book deserves its own entrance music. πŸ˜‚ It’s packed with payback, political maneuvering, romance, badass women, and characters finally coming together. See what I did there? I turned a 644 pages book into barely a paragraph. πŸ˜‚ I had a couple of interviews recently and I could not stop yapping my face off even if it was to save myself. So I’m practicing how to be concise and cool at the same time. πŸ₯²βœ¨ or I’m just lazy to actually make a decent review buuuuut it’s that good I gotta jump to the next book. Heir of Fire By Sara J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is where Celaena’s journey takes a major turn. She has to confront her past, her identity, her abilities and a whole lot of emotional baggage she has been aggressively avoiding. πŸ˜‚πŸŽ’ This definitely felt like the book where the series starts feeling EPIC. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ QOTD: My favorite thing about a handsome villain is___________ #booksbooksandmorebooks #bookstagram #booksofigπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“š#sarajmaasbooks #heiroffire by @pinkbibliophile
Crown of Midnight By Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What in the actual helliiieee πŸ˜‚ Safe to say this is where the series starts shifting from fantasy competition with a badass assassin into OH. This story is so MUCH BIGGER than I thought. And I love that the secrets just keeps getting DARKER, the stakes higher and my trust issues is at its worst. πŸ₯Ή long story short. Throne of Glass By Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There’s a castle. There’s a prince. There’s a captain. There are murders happening. And Celaena just wanted to win her freedom but accidentally became the main character of an entire fantasy universe. Yes please. The Assassin’s Blade By Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let’s do lazy reviews, because I feel like sleeping on the floor if there was ever work on the bed πŸ˜‚ that level of doing quisby. lol. Anyway I loved that this became an easy five star read for me. It was basically ~ Assassin girlie origin story + morally questionable decisions + heartbreak.πŸ’” Sarah gave us a terrifying and super cool assassin FMC and then showed us how ruthless life can humble her. 😭 1000 emotional damage πŸ₯² QOTD: Predictive text: My toxic trait as a reader is_________ #booksbysarahjmaas #assassinsbladesarahjmaas #throneofglassseriesπŸ“š #bookishgirlgangπŸ“š #bookstagramph by @pinkbibliophile
A Curse for True Love By Stephanie Garber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🫠 Yearning πŸ’” Lost Memories πŸ‘‘ Curses & Magic ✨ Fairytale Fantasy 🎭 Secrets & Deception My thoughts πŸ’ WARNING: I am a Stephanie Garber Fangirl πŸ₯² I love all the whimsy she feeds her readers! πŸ¦‹And at this point, I will be completely insufferable about how enchanted I am with her writing. πŸ’“ The atmosphere. The castles. The curses. The magic. The strange little rules. The impossible choices. The feeling that every beautiful thing has a darker story underneath it and will come back to trap you later. UGH. And I love all the characters. Evangeline πŸ‘‘ the best thing about her is that underneath all the magic and fairytale chaos, she’s still so deeply hopeful. She continues to believe in love and in people even when everything around her is telling her not to. She doesn’t let any of the shit around her change who she is. She still chooses softness in a world determined to make her bitter. She could easily choose violence but doesn’t. And that resonates with me. And then there’s Jacks. This man has spent three books making terrible decisions, keeping secrets, manipulating situations, emotionally torturing everyone including all readers and somehow WE STILL WANT HIM. 😭🀭 Like, He’d literally ruin someone’s entire life and then stand there looking pretty and mysterious and we’d be like: β€œYou know what? We can fix him.” πŸ˜‚β›³οΈ He’s not your typical swoony fairytale prince. He’s dangerous, selfish, complicated, unpredictable, and occasionally an absolute menace to society. But underneath all of that is someone who loves far more deeply than he knows how to admit. And THAT is what gets me. πŸ’― Total red flag for the win. πŸ₯Ήβœ¨ I also think this series is one of those where the experience of reading it matters almost as much as the actual plot. You don’t just read it. You get swept into the fairytale. 🏰 Five stars for the experience! ⭐️ 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 QOTD: If you could live in ONE Stephanie Garber universe, would you choose Caraval or Once Upon a Broken Heart? πŸ‘€βœ¨ And be honest, would you trust Jacks with your heart? 🦊❀️ #booksbooksb by @pinkbibliophile
The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy By Brigitte Knightley ⭐⭐⭐ Romantasy ✨ Forced Proximity βš”οΈ Enemies to Lovers 🫠 He Falls First and HARD πŸ”₯ EXCRUCIATINGLY Slow Burn My thoughts πŸ’ Where to start on this one, geez πŸ˜‚ First of all, I actually really liked the concept of this book. A healer and an assassin from opposing orders being forced to work together during a deadly outbreak? YES. Sign me up. The enemies to lovers setup had SO much potential. But unfortunately… THE PACING KILLED IT ALL. 😭 I knew going in that this was supposed to be an excruciatingly slow burn, and listen, I love slow burns. Give me yearning. Give me tension. Give me the β€œwe absolutely hate each other so why are you looking at me like THAT?” energy. AND I WILL EAT IT UP. But I think this book took slow burn and applied it to the entire story then blurred the line. πŸ˜‚ There were moments where I was just sitting there like… β€œOkay… are we getting somewhere?” πŸ™‚β€β†”οΈ The romance was taking forever to develop, but at the same time the overall plot felt like it was moving at the same 🐌 speed. So instead of feeling deliciously tortured by the slow burn, It sometimes just felt painfully SLOW. 😭 And another thing I really wanted to connect more with Aurienne. She is intelligent, stubborn, and VERY committed to her principles but something about her felt a little flat to me. I kept waiting for that moment where I would finally click with her character and become emotionally invested in her and unfortunately, that never quite happened for me. Osric, on the other hand was an assassin who is charming, morally questionable and somehow manages to be annoying and entertaining at the same time? Okay, sir. I see you. And there were definitely moments where the chemistry between them was there. πŸ‘€ The tension was there. The potential was VERY much there. I just wanted more gratification. 😭More emotional depth. More movement in the story. More moments that made me go β€œOH MY GODDDDD YAAAZZZZ.” Instead, I spent a good portion of the book waiting for the urge to actually become irresistible. πŸ˜‚ Overall, I spent an entire year just reading and not reading it before I finished. 🫠 by @pinkbibliophile
Queen of Nothing By Holly Black ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dark YA Fantasy πŸ—‘οΈ Betrayal πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ Faerie Court ✨ Found family πŸ‘‘ Queen Energy β™ŸοΈ Political intrigue πŸ’‹ Romantic tension πŸ’€ One last round of emotional damage My thoughtsπŸ’ WELL. WE MADE IT. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ After three books of lies, manipulation, betrayal, political nonsense and Jude and Cardan collectively refusing to communicate like normal human beings and slash faeries, WE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE FINAL BATTLE. And … I have never wanted to strangle a fictional couple to JUST TALK more in my entire life. πŸ˜‚ Jude went from a mortal girl desperately trying to survive Faerie to someone who could genuinely change the entire kingdom. And I dreaded but LOVED watching that transformation. She’s still impulsive. Still stubborn. Still willing to make questionable decisions. Still has approximately zero chill. But that’s exactly why I love reading her. And Cardan??? He spent two whole books acting like an emotionally constipated menace and now you expect me to have feelings about you??? 😭 And Unfortunately… I do. πŸ« πŸ˜πŸ’— What I really enjoyed about the whole trilogy is how much it plays with power. Who has it, who wants it, who deserves it, and what people are willing to sacrifice to get it. POWER. POWER. POWER. It was obsessive. And somehow, underneath all the political chaos and murdery faerie nonsense, there’s this surprisingly emotional story about belonging, identity, family and choosing where you want to belong. πŸ₯ΉπŸ”₯ Was everything perfectly wrapped up with a pretty little πŸŽ€? No. Did I want more? ABSOLUTELY. Was I entertained? Bitzzz, I read three books about this murderous, messy, overly dramatic, ridiculously petty, vicious and completely addictive faerie prince x human girl rollercoaster of a romance ~ OF COURSE I WAS. πŸ˜‚ The ending had me sitting there like πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜πŸ« πŸ«Ά Five stars for this series that made me distrust faeries, monarchy, political alliances and men who smirk. πŸ’‹πŸ‘‘πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 QOTD: If you could live in one fictional fantasy world, which one are you choosing? The Wicked King By Holly Black ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dark YA Fantasy πŸ‘‘ Faerie Court β™ŸοΈ Political games πŸ—‘οΈ Betrayals πŸ–€ Morally Gray πŸ”₯ Romantic tension πŸ€₯ Everyone is lying πŸ’€ Trust issues My thoughtsπŸ’ So The Cruel Prince already had me suspicious of literally everyone, but The Wicked King said: β€œOh, you thought THAT was bad? Let me introduce you to the consequences.” 😭 Jude is out here trying to hold together a kingdom while simultaneously dealing with political schemes, betrayals, secrets, and one extremely irritating faerie prince who somehow manages to look pretty while making everyone’s life significantly worse. And honestly? I support women’s wrongs. πŸ˜‚ What I love about this series is that Jude doesn’t suddenly become some OP FMC, all-powerful badass who can walk into a room and intimidate everyone. She’s still human. She’s still vulnerable. So she survives by being smarter, more manipulative and significantly more willing to play dirty. Girl really said if I can’t beat the faeries at being immortal magical creatures, I’ll beat them at being freaking insane. πŸ’β€β™€οΈ And the political intrigue??? I. ATE. IT. ALL. UP. LIKE. A. DELICACY. 🀀 I spent so much of this book trying to figure out who was betraying whom that I eventually stopped trusting myself. πŸ˜‚ And then there’s Cardan, I genuinely don’t know what Holly Black put in this man’s character development but suddenly I’m sitting here like: this possibly misunderstood cruel but super- hot- while- he’s- brooding- faerie- prince. ~ I want one πŸ˜‚ And the tension between these two is so ridiculous because half the time I wanted to shake them and the other half I was like PLEASE JUST KISS AND STOP MAKING EVERYONE SUFFER. πŸ˜‚ And that ending??? HOLLY. BLACK. Ma’am, I have a JOB. I have responsibilities. I cannot be expected to process that ending and continue functioning like a normal member of society. 😭 (I finished this book last month and I can still go on and on about it 🀯) 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 QOTD: What book had you immediately reaching for the next one because the ending absolutely REFUSED to let you sleep? πŸ˜‚ #hollyblackthecruel by @pinkbibliophile
The Cruel Prince By Holly Black ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dark Fantasy 🧚 Faerie Court πŸ‘‘ Political Intrigue βš”οΈ Mortal Girl in Faerie πŸ–€ Enemies to Lovers β™ŸοΈ Power Games πŸ—‘οΈ Betrayal πŸ‘‘ Ambition ✨ Dark Fairytale Vibes πŸ”₯ Morally Questionable Characters Blurb✨ Jude has spent most of her life in Faerie after being stolen away as a child, but being human in a world of immortal, beautiful, and cruel faeries is not exactly easy. Especially when Prince Cardan makes it his personal mission to remind her just how powerless she is. But Jude doesn’t want to be protected. She wants power. And if surviving the Faerie Court means learning how to lie, manipulate, scheme and play their game better than they do then well, she’s willing to learn. πŸ—‘οΈπŸ‘‘ My thoughtsπŸ’ FIVE. FREAKING. STARS. 😭✨ Okay, I GET IT NOW. I went into this expecting faeries, court politics, pretty people being horrible to each other and some enemies to lovers tension, but I was NOT prepared to be fully invested that I just blitzed through Jude’s absolute determination to prove that being human does not mean being weak. And then there’s Cardan. Consider my flabbers to have been gasted by this dark haired and dark eyed faerie boy. Hahahahaha πŸ˜‚ I’m not even going to pretend I wasn’t hawked eyed in every interaction between these two like a deranged little yearning gremlin waiting for the next crumb. πŸ˜‚πŸ«£ What I really loved though is that this isn’t just a romance. The tension is there obviously but the story is so much more interested in power, ambition, manipulation, identity and what people are willing to become to get what they want. And now I’m emotionally obligated to continue this series. πŸ˜‚πŸ’—βœ¨ 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 QOTD: Have you read The Cruel Prince yet? πŸ‘€ Are you Team Cardan, Team Jude, or just here for the absolute CHAOS of the Faerie Court? πŸ˜‚ #bookstagram #bookreview #thecruelprince #hollyblack #bookstagrammer by @pinkbibliophile
Currently Reading πŸ“– πŸ“βœ¨ The Cruel Prince By Holly Black I’ve been meaning to read this one in FOREVER and I finally decided it was time. 🫣✨ We’ve got faeries, court politics, cruelty, power games, morally questionable decisions and an FMC who apparently looked at the terrifying world of Faerie and said β€œyeah, I can work with this.” πŸ˜‚ And I already know I’m probably going to have thoughts about Cardan. πŸ‘€ Tropes: 🧚 Faerie court πŸ‘‘ Court politics βš”οΈ Mortal girl in a fae world πŸ–€ Enemies / antagonistic tension πŸ”₯ Morally gray characters β™ŸοΈ Power games ✨ Dark fairytale vibes πŸ—‘οΈ Ambition & betrayal πŸ’‹ Slow-burn romantic tension I’m only getting started, but I can already tell this is going to be one of those books where I spend half my time going β€œWHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?” and the other half turning the page anyway. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜βœ¨ 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 QOTD: What was your first Holly Black book?
