God’s timing is always right.

On May 10th, 2025, I will be graduating from Auburn University at Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.

When I transferred from Trenholm to AUM in Fall 2021, I was carrying more than just academic ambition. Just days before my orientation, I lost my last living grandparent—my grandmother. That kind of heartbreak could’ve easily knocked me off course. I had already earned my associate’s degree, but I knew I wanted more. I didn’t even have time to properly grieve because life was moving fast, and so many blessings were coming my way. But truthfully, I would’ve traded every good thing that happened that year just to escape that nightmare.

This final semester has brought waves of emotion, and I’ve finally allowed myself to grieve. The tears have flowed heavy—especially knowing she won’t physically be here to watch me walk across that stage. I wasn’t able to walk for my associate’s, and that still sits heavy on me. But I know she’s with me. And I know she’s proud—right alongside my Auntie My and my other grandma, Ruby. I carry all three of them with me every step of the way.

The tassel was worth the hassle.
This is only the beginning.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

11 days later and I’m still smiling! My graduation party was everything I hoped for and more. Huge thank you to my amazing parents for hosting such a beautiful celebration; it meant the world to me.

Y’all know I’m Type A, so I planned every detail (yes… I even booked my photographer 24 hours before lol), and it came together perfectly!

Special thanks to my decorator who took my vision and completely elevated it; the space was beyond stunning. And to my mom, sister-in-law, niece, and Miss Freshwater; thank you for handling all the behind-the-scenes magic.

To everyone who supported me through college or showed love during graduation season; THANK YOU. From rides and encouragement to gifts and flowers, I felt it all.

I also know my three guardian angels; Annie Mae, Auntie My, and Grandma Ruby were right there with me. You had the best seats in the house. Always in my heart. 🕊️🖤 #RIP

Forever grateful. God did.
