I really didnā€™t get to do a lot of the stuff that I planned and set out to do while I was in Atlanta but overall I enjoyed my trip. I got to experience love. Iā€™m happy to be alive. Iā€™m happy to be able to go to the doctor even though I donā€™t have health insurance itā€™d cool if I had health insurance. But Iā€™ve got support and a little bit of money in my pocket and some food in my stomach and people who love me thatā€™s all I could really ask for. I like to think I unlock something in peopleā€™s true nature. Not because I try to change them, but because I try to remind them that they are already enough. About a year ago, I walked into the Robert Mello Studio feeling lost, scared, and disconnected from my artistry. At the time, I had spent years working behind the scenes as a camera operator and technical director. Somewhere along the way, I stopped creating, stopped connecting, and honestly stopped recognizing the artist I was becoming. My girlfriend, Charizma, recommended the Robert Mello Intensive to me. I expected another acting program. What I got was an experience that genuinely changed my life. Studying Meisner with @robismellow taught me that acting isnā€™t about pretending. Itā€™s about behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances. One question Robert asked me has stayed with me: ā€œWhat would you be if you werenā€™t an actor?ā€ That question forced me to look at who I am beyond the title and reminded me that acting is ultimately an imitation of life. After all How can I create the imitation of life without the experience. Iā€™m incredibly grateful to everyone at the Robert Mello Studio who pushed me, challenged me, and helped me find my artistry again. Thank you, @emilysoppe and @robismellow , for constantly pushing me into the nitty gritty and demanding more from me. And thank you to Nhadyne and Corrigan Brown and the production team of @babylonisanactionverb for teaching me the important lesson of how to navigate the room professionally and understand that, at work, not everyone is /will or has to be your friend. If youā€™ve ever dreamed about acting, or even just wondered if it might be for you, I genuinely recommend looking into the @the_robert_mello_studio.
