Most advanced version of square lid. Like it is not enough challenging to make a geometric teapot, now I am carving all facets. Hell yea I am enjoying every second of it 😁 Doesn’t it worth in the end? Isn’t she gorgeous? by @pinpottery

After years of making very geometric teapots, I am going back to a more traditional shape.

Well.. started traditional, of course I had to mess with it.

I threw the body on the wheel, then cut the surface by hand, facet by facet, using the technique I’ve become slightly addicted to lately.

This was a prototype. Normally I make several versions, sometimes 7 or 8, before I’m satisfied with the final version.

But she came out ridiculously good on the first try.
I’m very proud of her, and me 😬

Next step is making the mold. Otherwise it takes forever to make one. Even after the mild, there’s still a lot of handwork, so l’ll only be able to make a limited number at a time.

If you want one, comment TEAPOT and I’ll send you a message and shop link when they are in my shop. by @pinpottery

Pinar Sayin (@pinpottery) is a ceramic artist based in the Czech Republic, known for pottery that pairs clean architectural forms with raw clay texture. Her bold silhouettes and sculptural approach transform functional ceramics into art, giving each piece a distinct balance of precision, texture, and form.

Pinar showcases three satisfying ceramic carving processes: carving a freshly thrown clay cup into crisp geometric planes, refining a teapot with sharp sculptural cuts, and faceting another teapot with a radiating pattern. Each cut transforms the clay, revealing how carving can completely reshape the character of pottery.

💬 Which process could you watch on repeat—1, 2, or 3? Like, save, share, and send this to someone who loves satisfying ceramics. by @pinpottery

🏺 Ceramics on the Edge of Architecture

Turkish artist Pınar Sayın (@pinpottery) transforms everyday tableware into sculptural objects. Teapots, cups, and vessels take on sharp edges, complex geometry, and architectural forms — while still remaining functional.
This is where metamodernism comes in — art meets design and everyday life, turning an ordinary object into something that can be both used and viewed as a work of art.

Turkish ceramic artist Pinar (@pinpottery) builds modern, functional stoneware defined by sharp geometric cuts and architectural lines. 🫖

She combines traditional wheel-throwing with precise hand-carving techniques. She shapes raw clay into custom teapots, angular espresso cups, and faceted mugs, manually trimming every sharp edge and facet while the clay is leather-hard. Once fully dried, each piece receives custom glazes before going into the kiln for high-temperature firing. ☕

Her hands-on process blends clean contemporary design with traditional stoneware craft, creating durable everyday art for your kitchen. 🏺

Every step of making this teapot is so meditative. It keeps me fully in the present. I watch the cuts, my mind sits silent..
I always test my pots. When I had my green tea from this one, it felt like drinking a piece of art in an ordinary morning.

Comment “GIFT” and I’ll send you the shop link + free shipping for Mother’s Day!

This is my curse and my blessing. I have always been a person of contradictions. I have a free spirit, who searches for grounding. I crave freedom, but I love routines. I love to travel the world, but I miss home after four days. I’m a perfectionist, but I run out of patience too fast. I chase big dreams, but I struggle with the smaller decisions. All my personal growth is just a search for balance. This style is so me. The cuts may look random, but there is a harmony here. Every cut must have a pleasing angle with the other one. Is my chaos in order? Are you one of us?

While I studied psychology at uni, everyday I watched the industrial design studio next door like a cat at the window. I knew I’d missed my thing. Fortunately ceramics gave me a piece of it. This model is too much manual work, takes too much time and is one of my proudest desigs. Designing and making a two part closed mold for it will be brutal. Challenge accepted!
Ah and the last full hand made set of this year, is in shop now 😊 taken in Prague, Czech Republic by @pinpottery

I’m not a fan of ‘important dates’ or ‘special days.’ A day is special for me according to how I live it. So a ‘new year’ is not a huge deal for me. But this year, I’m changing my approach. I’m trying to organize my head by setting New Year’s resolutions, and since I’m a total newbie at this, I’m still not sure where or how to start.
When I took a risk (again 😣) and painted these colors directly on the pot before testing the glaze, and the result came out so beautifully, it gave me the appetite to work in collections with plain colors this year. This is big for me. Requires planning and organizing. I’ve been struggling to organize my thoughts lately. Now I feel excited, I have so many beautiful ideas and forms in my mind. I would need a few more versions of myself to try them all. This challenge, though, keeps me deeply motivated. I need find few more resolutions soon 😆 let’s see by @pinpottery
