A little update!

We’ve been hearing a lot of concern today about the exciting production happening at the quay. Just to clarify, we are open and completely unaffected by the Reno’s taking place further into the quay. The entire quay isn’t closed down, there are still lots of wonderful businesses down here to visit and support over the next 10 weeks 💚 pop by and check out what’s going on down here and give us little guys some local love!

So pleased to welcome Connie Kuramoto back to the shop for an evening of garden education!

Friday June 26 from 5-7 we will be hosting a hands on, informative workshop lead by our personal gardening guru @conniekuramoto

Feel free to bring some of your own cuttings to share, and you can expect to take some home with you.

$25 per person, maximum 15 students. Please bring a chair, we will be outside.

Light snacks and brewed organic iced tea will be provided.

10 Stops to Make in Port Alberni Before Heading to Tofino & Ucluelet

1. Grab coffee, lunch, or sandwiches from Wildflower Cafe.

2. While you’re close to the Harbour Quay, check out cute little shops like
good/kind shop, Pinto Goods, and West Hump

3. Grab pizza and beers at Twin City Brewing, Alberni Brewing Company, or stop in at Dog Mountain Brewing for the view of the inlet

4. Take advantage of the Port Alberni summer heat and stop for a swim at Taylor Arm Provincial Park on Sproat Lake for clear warm water and amazing lake views before heading to the cooler weather in Tofino and Ucluelet

5. Cool off in the river at Stamp River Provincial Park and check out the potholes

6. Explore some of the many local trails like Hole in the Wall, Inlet Trail, and Fossli Provincial Park OR if your keen on doing an overnight hike like 5040 or Triple Peak, rent backpacking gear from Alberni Adventure Gear

7. Of course, stock up on groceries, snacks, ice, and drinks before heading to the coast, definitely worth it to beat the summer crowds and higher prices

8. Pick up camping or backpacking gear from Alberni Adventure Gear if you’re planning to camp around Tofino, Ucluelet, or the surrounding areas

9. Thinking about staying overnight before heading west? China Creek Campground and Coleman Campground are both go to camping spots near Port Alberni

10. Make Port Alberni your last stop before the west coast for tasty food, AMAZING swimming, hiking, and stocking up before Tofino or Ucluelet
