We had some amazing Veteran visits in South Carolina last week! 🫶❤️ Many more coming up before the end of the year! 🇺🇸🫡 Stay tuned! If you would like to help out, please consider ordering a calendar that we can deliver to a Veteran on one of our upcoming visits. 💛 pinupsforvets.com ⬅️

A special thank you to @fearfullymadephotos for these fun pix above! 📸 by @pinupsforvets

8-year Army Veteran, Melanie, was featured in our 2018 Pin-Ups For Vets calendar as “Miss February” and has volunteered with us for 10 years! Melanie has dedicated her time for Veteran visits in multiple States with Pin-Ups For Vets, including our milestone 50th state visit to Alaska last year! We are so fortunate to have to have Melanie as an Ambassador!💛

From Melanie: “I wanted to be a part of the Pin-Ups For Vets calendar because I felt a connection to the organization’s service to veterans all over the US when I met Gina Elise, founder of Pin-Ups For Vets. I knew then I wanted to be involved, give back, express myself and my gratitude in a fun and creative way. I truly enjoy helping others. I believe everyone has the ability to make a difference. Some of the smallest gestures have the potential to make the biggest impact.

My MOS in the Army was once 63W, a wheeled vehicle repairer. It was later converted to what is currently the 91B series. I enlisted in the Army to be a mechanic so I could use those basic maintenance skills and apply them in my civilian life. Thanks to my training in the US Army I now have the know-how and experience to change my own oil, tires or brakes if necessary. I’ve been known to assist friends and family too!

During my service, I was selected to represent the Army National Guard in one of the first marketing and advertisement projects that launched the Army Combat Uniform (ACU’s). We spent nearly a month in both Arizona and Tennessee shooting different desert and wooded environments. Every now and then someone will text a photo of me in uniform on a mousepad, poster or DVD.”

We are truly honored to have 4-year USMC Veteran, Stephanie, as an Ambassador! Stephanie was featured as “Miss November” in our 2024 Pin-Ups For Vets calendar and has volunteered with us for 3 years now! In those years she has already made 11 Veteran facility visits in multiple states to bring smiles and gifts of appreciation to her fellow Vets! An incredible fact about Stephanie is that is that she saved an anonymous person’s life by becoming a living organ donor. She donated one of her kidneys! Truly she is a superhero and has a heart of gold!

Stephanie served as a Motor Transport operator. She worked with HMVV’s and 7-Tons and deployed to Iraq 2006. She drove logistics convoys throughout Al Anbar Province.

From Stephanie:
“I served active duty in the United States Marine Corps for four years from 2004-2008. I enlisted right out of high school at 17 years old, following in my father’s footsteps. He, like many others, was drafted into the Marine Corps during Vietnam. I truly wanted a challenge and to do something completely unexpected. The Marine Corps seemed to offer all of that and more! My MOS was Motor Transport which meant I was able to work with HMVV’s and 7-Tons. I was also able to go back to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to get my Refueler licenses. While most of my time was spent stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, I was deployed to Iraq from February to August of 2006 where I drove logistics convoys throughout Al Anbar Province.

I think the Calendar is the perfect blend of beauty and strength and showcases that those two are not mutually exclusive. I love that is entirely made up of Women Veterans coming together to help their fellow Veterans. It is ultimately a continuation of service that I am absolutely grateful to be a part of!”

We are so lucky to have such incredible Ambassadors representing Pin-Ups For Vets! Rosario was featured as “Miss December” in our 2019 Pin-Ups For Vets calendar which we photographed on the Queen Mary! She has volunteered with us for nearly a DECADE! 🫶 Thank you so much Rosario for your years of service with the Army as well as with our nonprofit, bringing joy to your fellow Veterans! 💛

More about Rosario: Rosario Elena Rivera is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Public Affairs specialist at Fort Bragg, where she authored a dedicated soldier feature column for the post newspaper, The Paraglide. During the immediate aftermath of September 11, she played a vital role in coordinating regional, national, and international media communications during a time of intense national mobilization, earning the Army Achievement Medal for her meritorious service.

While in beautiful South Carolina for our visits to the Charleston VA Medical Center and Walterboro Veterans Home, our Ambassadors took a little time out of their busy schedule for a fun photo shoot around the charming streets of Charleston! 🇺🇸📸

With its historic architecture, cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and Southern charm, Charleston provided the perfect backdrop for our ladies to show off their pin-up style and personality.

A little history, a little glamour, and a whole lot of patriotic spirit!

Our Pin-Ups for Vets Ambassadors had an unforgettable visit to South Carolina, filled with special moments, beautiful sights, and heartfelt connections. From spending time with the incredible Veterans at the State Veterans Home and VA hospital, to savoring delicious Southern food, admiring historic Southern architecture, strolling through Hampton Park, and visiting The Citadel, every moment was a reminder of the beauty of service, community, and connection.

The best part? Sharing smiles, stories, and laughter with the Heroes who have given so much for our country. ❤️ Until next time, South Carolina… by @pinupsforvets

We went sailing in Charleston, South Carolina with fellow nonprofit @veteransondeck ! Wow! What an awesome experience! Their mission is to move veterans and active duty service members from isolation into active participation, camaraderie and community through structured teamwork on the water! 🌊 ⛵️

We also got to meet two Cadets from the @thecitadel1842 🇺🇸 and learned so much about the school!
