And so fast it’s been a year since Tour began!!
The farther I get from everything tour was the more life-changing and amazing it seems. I’ve never been so free and so fully in my element and also so alone and so not.!
It’s so hard to explain! But now I so miss waking up untethered to newness every day, all the time.
What I didn’t expect was Family! We all still talk every day! How I miss these goofs who I walked with into this new part of my life!

I owe a lot to Once as an artist, musician, and friend of other artists and musicians.
I’m learning some questionable things about its inspiration and inception which is discouraging to say the least.
But as a piece of art it will forever be a favorite, and as do many are honoring it right now I thought I would as well. So here is myself and @diego.miguell and our last minute rendition from last year right before I ran around the country lol🎼✨ it’s a little crunchy, as is life lol.

Josh Grisetti changed my life.

I came to CSUF as a first gen college student who knew theatre was magic and knew I wanted a career in the arts if you could even say that. I just knew I had to do something with art and with music, and though I believed that could be in a big way I had no idea what that could mean. I saw a path there through MT and somehow that lead me to CSUF.
I saw quickly that whatever my path was didn’t look typical for MT. I wasn’t feelin NYC, and I wondered where my guitar might fit into the MT picture. I’m not particularly competitive and was over the moon to make the BFA and find myself in these rooms with people who felt so big next to me. I was proud of my work and growing but I still felt…small. I don’t think I knew I was allowed to let myself be seen as everything I was yet.

The first time I sang for Josh he woke something up in me that has not died since. He looked me in the eyes and saw me in a way no one ever had. He held a mirror up to me and confirmed that that huge feeling I could feel inside of me was real and should be used and should be shared. Then he put it to use in Dogfight and I haven’t stopped using it since. He made me feel trusted as a person and a professional and through that I turned that trust back towards myself. He met me where I was, as I saw him do with all others, not looking down on me but lifting me up to meet him. It was in this way that he spoke to me about the end of my engagement during my last months of school making me once again feel seen as my adult life became more and more real by the day.
Finally, he celebrated that I wanted to do things differently within this silly MT world and he assisted in helping me see how I can.

He took the last pic above at 54 below.
I am honored to have known him at all, to have learned from him, to have been one of the countless changed by him. I am devastated.

You can’t save people, you can only love them and try to make them feel it. I hope he can feel this giant outpouring from so many happening now.

I will feel you in my love of theatre and my time with my own students, Josh. I love you.
