one month with our newest family member, Mabel 🩵

she is the perfect addition, and i truly believe Tilly sent her to us. not only does she have the same missing eye and beautiful grey coloring, but she has the same sweet, gentle temperament too. she’s already become Maxie’s best friend and annoying little sister. 🥹

when we first brought her home, she didn’t leave her crate for two days. i remember thinking, wow, we have our work cut out for us. we weren’t sure if she’d ever trust humans. did we make the wrong decision??? crossed my mind, but little by little, she started opening up. then came her first zoomies…she tore up the yard because she’s so powerful (sorry @chadwickmak lol)

Mabel is shy, sensitive, incredibly affectionate and loyal, and already watchful and protective - all traits we love in Cane Corsos. adopting her is the best decision i’ve made this year.

just want to close this post by saying the 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months rule with newly adopted dogs exists for a reason. the first 3 days are all about decompressing. the first 3 weeks are when they start learning your routine and feeling safe. the first 3 months are when they finally realize they’re home. the dog you meet on day one may not be the dog you have a few months later.

adopting might end up being one of the best decisions you ever make, too.
