There are no words to express the heartbreak I'm experiencing today... not a post you want to share, but today my incredible husband, best friend, confidant and most unconditionally loving dad to my kids entered his Heavenly Home early this morning!

After a year and a half fight of an extremely rare sarcoma, Jeff WON that battle entering into God's presence and I know the first words he heard were 'Well done my good and faithful servant'. I have never seen anyone not waiver in their faith the way Jeff held tight to His Father and faith! Besides God, he was my rock and pillar and trusted God when things were dark.

So babe, I will love you forever and hold you close! As you said, me and the kids will be ok, God has us and I will continue to trust Him each step in this new journey.

Josiah, walking through the loss of your dad at just 16 was devastating, and the past few years haven’t always been easy. You’ve had to navigate through some tough roads and figure things out, without the one person who should have been there to guide you. Yet through it all, you have continued to press forward, growing and learning through every challenge! And the greatest joy is to watch you seek God when things haven’t made sense! I am so proud of you and the man you’re becoming.

Today begins an incredible new chapter as you step into ministry school. Your bold and confident pursuit of God and your love for Him are truly powerful to witness. I can’t wait to see all that He has in store for you! I know dad would be proud and is cheering you on from the balcony of Heaven!

(And a fun added bonus - Jess is the assistant Director of the School of Ministry, so technically they get to be in it together)

Looking back on this picture from 4 years ago today, I thank God for His presence and faithfulness, because I was broken!

Seven weeks after losing Jeff, we took our first vacation. I’m still not sure it was the right choice, but we did it. I couldn't even call it a family vacation back then - because ours had just been broken. The packing, the drive, and the trip are all still a blur. I cried most of the time, unable to see how I could possibly survive without him.

Yet, spending time with my kids was a lifeline. We laughed and enjoyed each other, even as we each navigated that first trip without him. Today, I'm so proud of us, and I know Jeff would be too of how we have grown through our grief. I've survived, and God has walked with us through the valley of the shadow of death, and continues to do so! Jeff will forever be in our story, we miss him and we will carry his love always - that's part of grief! I'm still on this path, but I am so incredibly grateful for the healing God has done, and I'm so grateful for my amazing kidsšŸ¤

Whatever you're going through, life with God is better!

Father’s day looks different for everyone! For some it's a joyful time of celebrating. For some it's a painful or tender day. And for some, it is a quiet day of remembering a father who is no longer here and deeply missed! If you are feeling the void, honor the tension of both joy and tears - they are the gift of how deeply we loved and how much they loved us.

Today I’m holding my memories close, and holding my kids even closer as I honor two incredible men. Navigating the joy and the pain of their absence isn't easy, but every memory is a gift I choose to face, feel, and cherish.

To my kids’ dad - Happy Father’s Day in Heaven, Jeff! While you have received the ultimate gift of being in the presence of our Heavenly Father, we sure do miss you down here - wish we could hear your voice and hug you one more time. But because of who you were, our kids have grown into amazing young adults - each of them carry the best pieces of you within - you would be so incredibly proud of them! Thank you for showing us what it looks like to put God first. You led our family with strength, honor, wisdom, and prayer, always pointing them back to their Heavenly Father for guidance. You were an amazing dad who loved them well. Thank you for all the laughs, the dad jokes, the adventures, and for always making sure we were taken care of. Thank you for being the best for us! Thank you for the foundation you laid, and your love and legacy we get to carry. Miss and love you forever!

To my dad – Before I knew what love looked like - you were there showing it everyday! Thank you for the godly life you lead, the sacrifices you made, the faith and wisdom you helped instill in me and for showing me what a man of God looks like. You were the best! Happy Father’s Day in Heaven dad, you are missed!

God - thank you for being my Father - the best anyone could ever have! 'A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling' (Ps 68:5).

4 years can feel like an eternity - and a heartbeat - all at once!
Life is fragile! We are not promised tomorrow! Most of us go through life assuming tragedy or premature loss won’t hit close to home - and I’d be lying if I said I never thought that! Yet here I am, four years into a loss that completely rewrote my life and my direction. Death alters everything. It changes you! Not only because a loved one is gone, but because your entire reality disappears with them. What used to be important - now isn’t! It forces you to think differently about life, what matters, and the world around you.

People assume you are simply mourning a person and should move on, but the reality is far more complex. You have to relearn how to live in a world where every single anchor has shifted. The silence replaces their voice, their texts, and their touch. You lose your co-pilot, your shared decision-maker, and the quiet comfort of your daily routines! You are forced to relive their absence over and over in the most ordinary places. You learn to carry someone in your heart because you can no longer hold them in your life. Change isn’t overnight, but rather a slow, quiet, process, unfolding in countless subtle ways no one else can see.

Life is a journey of constant movement and growth. We easily notice physical changes! Our spiritual lives also shift - either drawing closer to God, stalling or drifting. And deep within, your daily choices silently sculpt your heart - this inner transformation defines your journey. How will you choose to guard this sacred space?

This is where you put in the intentional work to heal. Healing doesn’t betray the love you’ll always have for your person! But the process can be painful; facing realities you want to avoid. This is where I have had to wrestle with God! Trusting Him is a lifelong path I walk closely, even when I don’t understand! Believe me, there are times I’ve struggled to trust!

I’d still say yes! I’d still say the vows, even now knowing the impact of the words - till death do us part…! The weight of grief feels heavier today as I would love to reach across the bed, gently touching your arm while quietly whispering - happy anniversary babe, but instead met with a cold empty space! Even though there were moments I never thought I’d make it through this valley, I would go through the heartbreak, ache, pain and the endless questions of losing you just to have loved you and been loved by you! Today marks 30yrs and we should be celebrating! We were supposed to grow old together, living out our God-given visions,Ā Ā dreams, and goals we shared! But instead I find myself holding onto a deep sense of gratitude for the 26 years and one week we were given before my world changed forever!

It’s hard to describe the weight of losing you and with your absence came the sudden end of daily realities - no more growing in what it meant to be one-flesh, no more parenting our young adult kids together, no more shared decision-making, the dad conversations you were supposed to have - all gone! In the wake, I was left navigating how to pick up the pieces of shattered dreams!

Yet, even in the midst of the painful void, it has forced me to reflect on the beautiful foundation we built. Learning to stand alone has made me grateful for all the lessons we learned together. Thanks to you, Jeff, we had a great marriage—it wasn’t perfect, but we were perfect for each other.Ā

So in honor of Jeff and our special day, I thought I’d share some lessons we learned along the way:

God must be priority - individually, and as a couple - seek Him together - pray for each other and over each other.Ā Ā Hard seasons don’t destroy marriages - they reveal your foundation - make sure your foundation is built on Him!
Your spouse comes first over every other relationship - this includes your kids and your parents! Your children need to see that you love each other and value each other - when your kids are young this helps create security in their hearts.

Life Update:
My life has been an incredible journey. I have stood on mountaintops, navigated winding trails, and walked through the deepest valleys! For 26 amazing years, I served in ministry alongside the love of my life, Jeff, while raising 3 incredible kids. Together, we spent nine years traveling and preaching, followed by 17 years of pastoring the church we planted. I have remained on staff for the last 4 years since Jeff passed! I am so incredibly grateful for 30 years of full-time ministry, the lives I've watched God transform, and the countless miracles He provided for!

While God never changes, my seasons do. Anchored in my unchanging Father, the remaining of 2026 stands before me as a blank, unwritten chapter - both scary and exciting. I have stepped down from my staff role at the church to see what new things God has for me! God is still doing great things at Victory, and I look forward to supporting Pastor James and Aubrey as they continue to lead Victory Northcobb.

Life is a wild mix of beautiful and cruel, happy and sad, joyful and heartbreaking! It is never just one or the other - it is always both. Beneath every season lies the inevitable reality of change. While the world tells us change is the only constant, with God, we hold fast to a greater truth, a far better anchor: an unchanging Father we get to rely on!

Change will always find us - whether through our own doing, the actions of those around us, or the natural order of a fallen world. The beauty lies in knowing that while our circumstances shift, our God never will.

In all honesty, change has not always been something I’ve kept close - It’s uncomfortable, unpredictable, and often overwhelming. It triggers insecurities and at times can feel like failure. It is messy, and sometimes, it just plain hurts. Transitions can also be a painful and messy process. But avoiding change means avoiding growth. It is through these unpredictable seasons that our resilience is forged, our faith is stretched and strengthened, our trust deepens and change shifts our perspective to realign with God’s plan - the hard work is worth it!

~ March 27 ~
There will be days and moments in life that will mark us in deep ways… some good, some hard, some joyous, some heartbreaking and some we don’t understand - and it’s learning to be grateful for each!

21 years ago today, will be a day that I will always look back on and be grateful for - the journey God took Jeff and I on as pastors! With two little girls and a baby on the way, we stepped out in faith, along with about 15 others, to plant Victory North Church.Ā For 17 years we had the privilege of living out the calling God gave us! I loved being a pastor’s wife, I loved being Jeff’s wife!Ā I met and developed relationships with some of the best and most faithful people, had a constant front row seat to life-change, walked through highs and lows, we went from meeting in schools to a building campaign to purchase a building, and build out a parking lot! There were so many God miracles - and each came with the chance to see our faith stretched, challenged and grow! We trusted God together each and every day! It was an incredible journey, one I’ve forever grateful for!

Victory will always be part of my journey, a legacy I and my kids will forever carry and be proud of - their dad was an incredible man - and his legacy and life mission will forever be remembered!

AĀ goodĀ name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold. - Prof 22:1 (amp)

Today held a few levels of emotions all wrapped in the awe of God's faithfulness! Your kids walking in the giftings that God has given them is definitely the desire of a parent's heart - I know and heard the prayers that were prayed by their dad, but to see each of them walk out in the gifts and talents God has given them is one of the best gifts! But in this grief journey we now walk, the secondary losses are always close by... even a happy heart can be shared with a sting of pain and ache when a dad is not around to share in the joys and proud moments of watching your kids!

From the time Josiah could talk, it constantly included singing! Jeff used to be amazed at how much he sang, everywhere, and that he was actually good lol! For years he prayed that one day Josiah would use it for God in leading worship! And, even though there's been school singing and leading at Tuesday's YA, there was something so special about Josiah being on the Sunday worship team today, almost 21 years to the day that Jeff and I started/planted Victory North! To stand on the platform his dad stood on and look like his dad as he worships was bittersweet! Josiah, I'm so proud of you, and was so sad to have missed being there in person, but was cheering you on from afar, and grateful for all those supporting you in personšŸ¤Ā And today, dad would have been so proud of you! Your heart for God is special to see!Ā
