31 years ago, you were there to welcome me into the world, and I can’t think of a time in my life when you weren’t there for me through every moment.

It’s hard to believe that the last time I heard your voice, you were singing Happy Birthday to me at 7 AM, as you always did. I can still hear your last words, “get some rest, mami. we’ll talk later. ” I didn’t know that later would turn into forever. And two days later, my world changed in a way I never could have imagined. The call I received that day broke me. The screams from your sister, the cries from your kids, the ache that reaches the deepest parts of your soul.

Two years without you. Wow. Losing you left a silence in our lives that we’re still learning to live with. We smile, we laugh, and we keep moving forward, but there are silent cries, tears shed in private and moments when the reality of you being gone sets in again. No matter how much time passes, a part of us will always long for you. In every season of life and until we find each other again. I love you, titi. Forever and always. Your Tuta by @pipstvgram
