Healing in a valley full of waterfalls in the high Amazon, with mushrooms, medicinal plants and art.

Trekked to some waterfalls in the area with @helen__mitt and we saw a bunch of mushrooms. Came back sucking on sugarcane and feeling great! by @pirka_nete

Update! Amazonian Pleurotus that I cloned a couple months ago is fruiting and doing great. Will taste tonight for sure! by @pirka_nete

Packing up some bags with local hardwood shavings and Amazonian Reish grain spawn! by @pirka_nete

Was out looking for something specific, but came across these beauties instead. Some bird's nest mushrooms (cyathus) in the high Amazon! by @pirka_nete

It's ganoderma dual extraction day! I combined neutral alcohol extract from the Soxhlet with a hot water extract and came up with a decent batch. I'm gonna start taking it regularly and see how it affects me. by @pirka_nete

Some I left on the shelf too long, others were contaminated and were put aside with little hope. But look at these fungi's resilience and the will to spread their spores! Inspiring to say the least! by @pirka_nete

My friends @lalihoughton and @jonatanmolecker brought me back some wild oyster mushrooms from their walk to the river. I quickly brought it to the flow hood, peeled some of the skin back and went to work in order to secure the strain in PDA. It's growing well I think with the hyphae going aerial. Local wild oyster mushroom (pleurotus pulmonarius?) clones coming soon!! by @pirka_nete

Getting back to hericium erinaceus this month. This one's a beast at only 5 days! by @pirka_nete

Went for a hike to check out a waterfall with my friend @joella_duncan. We found some pycnoporus (I think) and a bunch of suillus leutius along the way. Water was cold but these spontaneous treks are always worth it! by @pirka_nete

My biochemist friend @viviquimlab taught me how to use the Soxhlet about a year ago. I've since been extracting the medicinal mushrooms that I grow and have learned the labor intensive process of making dual extracts. This has tried my patience but it feels great to have a finished product. I've been taking hericium erinaceus dual extract for a couple months now and I believe I can feel the difference in my mind's clarity. by @pirka_nete

Went to a nearby waterfall with @michifungus and we saw some mushrooms. This one might be peziza? What do you think? by @pirka_nete
