This week, the University of Pittsburgh School of Education is partnering with Friends of Flight 93 (@flight93friends) and the National Park Service (@nationalparkservice) for the Flight 93 National Memorial Educator Symposium, an immersive, multi-day professional learning experience for K-12 history, social studies, and civics educators from across Pennsylvania. The symposium was conceived to equip educators with instructional strategies to teach the significance of Flight 93 to a new generation as the 25th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001 approaches.Stay tuned as we share more from this one-of-a-kind gathering—including a panel with family members aboard the flight—and special thanks to faculty member Melissa Nelson, a facilitator of multiple multiple workshops, who helped organize the symposium. by @pitteducation
