A big thank you to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas for helping us make this year’s Bike Drive possible! 🚲

We’re so grateful to receive a $3,500 Community Impact Grant and a $2,000 Elm Acres Grant from the Community Foundation. Their support is helping us get closer to our goal of providing bikes to local kids in need!

This year, our goal is to donate 150 bikes, and we’re just $4,000 away from reaching it!

Want to help us get there?
Donate through Venmo: @PittPAYP
Or donate by cash, check or card at the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our Bike Drive and help us put a bike in the hands of a local child! 🚲 by @pittpayp

What an incredible Lunch & Learn today! 🎶

A huge thank you to Frida and Isaac Hernandez, Directors of the Hispanic Music Festival , for sharing more about the 3rd Hispanic Music Festival and everything happening September 15–October 17. We learned about the exciting lineup of concerts and events, watched clips from past performances, and even got to learn a few fun dance moves from Frida!

All of the festival concerts are FREE to attend and are designed to bring our community together through music, culture, and connection. Whether you're looking to learn more about Hispanic culture or celebrate your own heritage, everyone is welcome!

Be sure to check out the event schedule in the photos and save the dates - you won't want to miss this amazing experience!

They're also presenting In the Heights at Memorial Auditorium and Convention Center with Triple Threat Threeatrics during the festival. (Please note: this performance is ticketed and not a free event.)
For more information, visit: pittstate.edu/music/hispanic-music-festival.html

Thank you again, Frida and Isaac, for a wonderful presentation and for sharing your passion with our community! by @pittpayp

We had a great PAYP Board Meeting (and pizza party 🍕) today! Thank you to everyone who joined us.

A highlight of today's meeting was presenting @rogerleroyhortonjr and @heatherlynnhorton with a check in support of their Spread the Loaf initiative @toastinpitt. Thank you to our PAYP members for your generous donations! Through partnerships with local food banks, Spread the Loaf provides fresh, homemade bread to families facing food insecurity throughout Southeast Kansas. It's an incredible program making a real difference in our communities.

We also covered:
• Financial updates
• Committee reports
• Upcoming events, including Family Night, tailgates, After Work Breaks, our annual banquet, and the Community Fair
• Service opportunities and our goal of reaching 1,150 volunteer hours—don't forget to submit your service hours!
• The kickoff of our 3rd Quarter Fundraiser: the Bike Drive 🚲
• Membership updates and upcoming Lunch & Learns
• Voting on our new PAYP T-shirt design 👕

Interested in seeing what PAYP is all about? We'd love to have you join us at our next board meeting on Wednesday, August 19, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. by @pittpayp

Help celebrate Pittsburg 150th birthday by volunteering at the Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 4! We're looking for volunteers to assist with barricades along the parade route and to walk alongside the Pittsburg 150 float in the parade.

It's a great opportunity to get involved, meet fellow young professionals, and be part of a memorable community celebration.

What a great Lunch with a Leader!

Today, Dr. Thomas Newsom, President of Pittsburg State University, shared the powerful Coffee Bean Lesson - an inspiring reminder that when life turns up the heat, we have the opportunity to transform our circumstances rather than be changed by them.

Thank you, Dr. Newsom, for sharing your wisdom and encouragement with our young professionals. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch from The Meat Shed! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great afternoon of conversation, inspiration, and connections!

Don't forget to sign up for our July Lunch & Learn - Pittsburg Hispanic Festival! Register here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0E4DA4AA2CA2FC1-63278681-july by @pittpayp
