Join @thegavinhoey at @cvpgroup 's Education Festival this Thursday for a one off workshop on Livestreaming with @obsbot cameras and equipment!

🎤 Small Space, Big Stream: Building a Flexible Live Stream Set-up
🗓️ Thursday 5th November, 1pm-2pm
📍 CVP Fitzrovia, London

In this highly practical session, we peel back the curtain on what it takes to transform a "normal," multi-purpose room into a polished live streaming studio, every single week. Because building a pro quality live stream workflow doesn't require a permanent broadcast studio or a massive production crew.

From blank screen to multi-cam live stream, this session explores the unique logistics of temporary setups. We will look at how to leverage the compact power of the OBSBOT ecosystem (including the Tail 2 and Talent 2) to manage multi-camera scenes, tackle the often ignored challenges of streaming audio and successfully navigate the modern demand for both horizontal and vertical streaming. Whether you are a solo creator, a student, or managing a small media department, you'll walk away with real world, budget conscious strategies to streamline your workflow and elevate your next broadcast.

Learn streaming from the best!

Book your FREE space now on the CVP site.

Sometimes, keeping it simple is all that’s required.
-
I absolutely love this look, and yes, the eagle-eyed among you have surely spotted the intentional movement present in some of these shots.
The couple of ‘energised’ images here were intentionally shot at 1/8th of a second to get that slight movement effect, and yes, I know I’ve mentioned this before, but this is only possible thanks to LEDs.
No matter what shutter speed you set your camera to when shooting with flash, the subject will always be frozen at around ~1/4000th of a second. There is no one ‘best’ light for photography, as I truly believe both LED and flash bring something unique to the table, and it’s for this reason that I’d never get rid of or sell my old flashes.
-
What about you guys, are you keeping your flashes as well as your LEDs? Or are you just going to stick with one type of light moving forward?

Another cover from @femmecountrymagazine Front Cover Academy, our stunning cover lady here @ng.equine , usually at home in the Equestrian world, she was quite nervous on the day but Nicole was such a natural in front of the camera, more than she realised.

We kept things super simple with an elegant white voile backdrop and hints of warm wooden screen to provide a little contrast. Check out a behind the scenes snap at the end.

👻Because suffocation is a risk worth taking? No. But it looks good right?!

I felt like a sandwich in the shop with my head wrapped in cling film.

But anyway it was a fun shoot to do for my haunted Halloween self portrait. I've had their perspex for about 10 years and it's well used. The more damage to it, the better imo.

Shot using a @litemons le300bi light with a grided beauty dish as the only light source. I was gifted this via @pixapro @essentialphotovideo but they didn't ask me to create this with it. Just fancied it.

Disclaimer because funerals are pricey and money is better spent on living and camera equipment. Don't do this alone or without air holes

Is it even spooky season if you don't binge watch horrors?

My favs in no particular order:
Carnival of souls
Good Boy (watch with caution)
Everything Insidious
All The Conjuring
Mirror Mirror
Candyman

Shot using a single light. A @litemons le300bi light from @essentialphotovideo @pixapro with a grided beauty dish on it.

A scratched up and water sprayed perspex sheet infront of some texture.

Disclaimer: we aren't choking ourselves out for this. Don't be silly and do this alone or not even give ya self an air hole. by @pixapro

Congrats to our 2nd place runner up in this year's Halloween Photo Contest, @trevor.gibbons.photography ! 🥈🎃

Trevor secured 46% of the votes in the final round with this cool creepy photo of the doll in the woods, modelled by @danielle_victoria_model.

Trevor says: "I used a godox v100 with a magmod green gel. I shot this slightly back at the camera to get a bit of green flair.
( some more of the photos from this shoot was more prominent with the flash/gel aiming back at the camera lens)

Gear used
Sony A7iv
Sony 50-150 f2 GM
Key light Godox Ad300 pro
With a Magmod MagSphere XL with grid.-Camera right.
Trigger was a godox X3

Settings:
S/s 1/200
F2
ISO 250
Shot at 80mm.

I called the shoot The Forgotten Doll. The idea I had was a doll left in the woods that came to life.

The shoot was about 45 mins before dark so I could get a little ambient light through the trees. The model for this shoot was sat on a fallen tree for this photo. " by @pixapro
