✨ Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but, for what it is worth, I do know there will be books 📚🧚

My reviewing philosophy is pretty simple...

✨ Did I giggle, kick my feet, or audibly squee?
💔 Did I cry, gasp, or want to throw my reading across the room?
📖 Did "just one more chapter" somehow become 2 and 3 a.m.?
🧠 Did it alter my brain chemistry... or teach me something about myself?

I've come to realize — and fully embrace — that I'm very much a vibes reader.

My reviews and opinions aren't always meant to be a critical analysis of a book's literary merit, but rather a reflection of my reading experience ― how a story made me feel, the characters it introduced me to, and whether I found myself thinking about it long after I'd turned the final page and maybe even suffered from a book hangover because of it.

Every reader finds something different within the same story. These heart ratings simply reflect how each story found me.

𝓦𝓮𝓵𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓛𝓾𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓲𝓪, where elemental magic, dragons, and destiny collide.

Set in a realm of elemental clans and long-sleeping dragons, the story follows a young woman’s rise from survivor to Spiritborn — the realm’s most dangerous legend — and the warlord she was never meant to love.

Follow Amara Thalor as she navigates a world of ancient magic, dangerous secrets, and bonds that could ― and will ―　change everything. With a growing connection to Thane Caelum, a war-hardened, fire-wielding warlord, and the Phoenix Ring ― his trusted inner circle ― her journey is about more than discovering who she is... it’s about deciding who she wants to become.

🐉 Dragons with opinions
🔥 Elemental magic
❤️ He falls first
⚔️ Protective, ruthless-to-everyone-but-her Warlord
✨ Found family
🌶️ Slow-burn tension + spice
💔 Grief, healing, identity & becoming
🖤 Ancient secrets, political intrigue & a growing darkness
🔥 A romance where the MMC is a green flag, NOT morally gray

I’m obsessed with this story and think you could be too 🎧 📖

I’m tipping my hat to my bottom shelf this Shoutout Sunday. To here’s to the books that make up the foundations of our bookshelves but rarely (never?) make it into the content.

It’s a Shoutout Sunday and Shelf Tour Sunday wrapped in one 📖

When Jack the Ripper is captured alive, four morally gray souls discover he was never Victorian England’s greatest monster. Known only as The Widow, Olive spends her nights hunting the predators the law refuses to punish while secretly protecting abused women and children through her cabaret and sanctuary. When notorious brothers Edward and Alcott Afton capture Jack the Ripper, their paths collide with legendary assassin Lazarus Graves.
Their uneasy alliance uncovers a conspiracy hidden beneath Victorian London’s polished society, forcing four broken souls to trust one another as monsters close in from every direction. But while they hunt evil, someone far more dangerous has already set his sights on Olive. Some monsters wear crowns. Others wear familiar faces.

In death, they found her. In her, they found life.

🎨 4 Marker Challenge

@imis_book_corner I did a thing! And I challenge you to a 4 marker challenge!

Paged selected at random, but between the mailbox and my very first color pull being red… it was obvious which book this page HAD to be in homage to. I only wish my pulls had included a blue to give the MMC a little love as well. Still, I lucked out with a 4 marker palette that ended up being very autumn-coded! 🍂❤️

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝕖𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕔𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝔹𝕣𝕠𝕠𝕞𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕔𝕜 ℝ𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘 by @vermilionhbaine_author is one of nine books in the The Pumpkin Hollow series, a collection of autumn-themed, interconnected paranormal romance standalones set in a hidden small town populated by witches, shifters, and monsters.

Our FMC is a broomstick racer with a personality inspired by Lightning McQueen (hence the red!) who reluctantly returns to her hometown after a devastating, career-ending injury and takes up a job as a mail carrier (op, a mailbox). She even has a little cardinal for a familiar (I wish I had modified the bird to look more like one with the head crest, alas)!

It is probably REALLY hard to see because the brown is such a rich dark color… but there is a wood grain on the mailbox 😂

Ironically my only ✨seasonal✨ read I will have this year due to my reading schedule having so many amazing ARCs, but I hope to check out the rest of the series later!

All are available now! (included if you have a KU subscription)

Coloring book is @cocowyocoloring “Into Gardens”

Fever is down. Two doses of medicine have been had. And I found two book mails waiting for me this morning when I went to take out the trash 😊

I know I ordered these… but the sick brain fog right now has me forgetting what they are 😅
