The freedoms that matter. Comment below with yours! 👇 No men were involved in the making of this dream 🙌 No shrinking to make everyone ELSE comfortable Because enforced modesty is just a control mechanism 🛑 Men don’t follow up their sentences with ‘maybe, idk, I guess, sorry’ No, you don’t get just one shot. You get as many as you want. Self promotion feels weird to women, but some amount of it is just necessary. by @piyu1991
Fashion should just keep it fun 🤷‍♀️ by @piyu1991
Swipe for this one ➡️ Turns out going offline is way harder than running meta ads-but even early in our jotney we understood that India really shops offline, and we had to be where our customer was. So we gave it our everything - we spent hours in the waiting rooms of large retailers who wouldn’t even give us a meeting, cold emailed anyone we could find on LinkedIn and truth be told, used any contact we could get our hands on. After years of trying we went offline with one of India’s largest fashion retailers, and it was a true pinch me moment but sadly, it didn’t turn out like we expected. Our partner just didn’t understand how our customer shopped - that their tastes were made online and they went offline looking for the thing their Instagram already told them was cool. So style selection was a struggle, replenishment was slow and growth was at a snails pace. Finally a retailer which understood how modern India shops - that they look for experiences, and community, and live half their lives online so they go offline looking for the product they just saved on Instagram. With them, we got support for brand activations, cool community building events, total freedom on what we stocked in their stores, and feedback at a pace that almost rivaled what we see online. We were also in good company - surrounded by other brands that our customer loved, so Broadway became a destination for the fashion forward, trend loving girl across fashion, beauty, skincare and food! It gives us a real kick to see our products hanging on racks, giving our customers the opportunity to touch, try and feel, with a partner who just gets it! by @piyu1991

Paying my meta ad bill has to be my least favourite activity ever - the only ‘hack’ that works to profitably grow using performance marketing is making your messaging better and better! You have to problem solve for your customer through both the product but ALSO the communication. Make life easy for them - preempt their problems and solve it in 30 seconds or less. Getting better and better at this is the secret to our growth! by @piyu1991

Proudly by Indian women, for Indian women! 🇮🇳 When we tell people that @uptownie101 has a 90% female team they’re shocked. Shocked that we don’t have men in managerial roles, shocked that all technical roles are capably performed by women employees and that we have no male investors or stakeholders. But if we believe ANYTHING, we believe that women can do it all! They can build big businesses, they can negotiate with 3rd parties, they can do product development, set up and run strong ops, have a razor sharp control over their company’s finances and can do it all while still making creative and fun marketing content. Our team is our secret sauce, the magic that powers the brand, and while we may change or pivot in many ways we will always stay true to this philosophy- of having an empowered, capable team of power women! This women’s day let’s raise a toast to women - who defeat all odds to shine in every space! by @piyu1991
