We know there’s great pizza in Leicester, but this is a spot that needs to be on your radar. Pizza Sofia is located on Belvoir Street in the former Maurizio’s restaurant. They’re serving up delicious Neapolitan style cuisine and it’s excellent value for money. 📸Pictured Starters: Golden Pillow - crispy fried gnocchi with 24-month San Daniele prosciutto and whipped ricotta Raw Deal - IGP beef carpaccio with rocket, shaved parmesan and lemon olive oil Pizzas: Holy Crust - San Marzano tomato, Italian sausage, roasted mushrooms and smoked mozzarella Burrata Dreams - San Marzano tomato, creamy burrata, mortadella and roasted pistachio crumb Special - Special of the week with Italian sausage and broccoli The pizzas are around £10 which is superb value for money. They also offer a small selection of pasta dishes. PLUS at lunchtime (12pm - 5pm)they offer a £5 folded “pizza wallet”, like you’d find if grabbing lunch in Naples. This family owned restaurant has a cosy vibe with super-friendly service and a tasty food and drink selection. Here’s what we sampled: 🍞 Bread Pitt - Warm homemade bread selection, sourdough focaccia, brioche, Tuscan olive oil and aged balsamic. 🫒 Olive Me Tender - Selection of marinated Italian olives 🍕 The Italian Job - Fior di latte, beef carpaccio, rocket, fig marmalade and parmesan shavings. 🍟 Truffle Hustle - Crispy fries dusted with parmesan and truffle seasoning. 🍝 Nonna’s Secret - Slow-braised beef ragù tagliatelle finished with parmesan and basil oil. 🍕✨ Amazing experience at @pizza_sofia_ ✨🍝 We tried the Saint Marzano pizza and Nonna’s Secret pasta, and both were absolutely delicious! 😍 The pizza was packed with flavour, beautifully prepared, and the pasta was rich, comforting and full of authentic Italian flavours. 🇮🇹❤️ A special mention to the amazing team and service— we received such a super warm welcome from the moment we walked in. 😊 The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel genuinely looked after throughout our visit. The **ambiance inside is lovely** too — cosy, welcoming and beautifully suited to a relaxed meal, right in the **heart of Leicester city centre**. 🥰✨ Definitely a place we would recommend if you’re looking for fresh delicious pizza and pasta, great service and a lovely atmosphere. 🍕🍝❤️ Can’t wait to come back! 🇮🇹🙌 Ps. 🍕 NEW PIZZA SPOT IN LEICESTER 🍕🇮🇹 Leicester has a brand new spot for authentic Neapolitan pizza and after heading down to @pizza_sofia_ grand opening on Thursday, this is definitely one to have on your radar 👀 {PR Invite} Pizza Sofia is all about bringing a true taste of Naples to Leicester, with three generations of pizzaioli behind the concept and pizzas made using traditional techniques and fresh ingredients🇮🇹🍕 The grand opening started exactly how it should… with an Aperol in hand 🍹 and complimentary starters doing the rounds before we got onto the main event. 🍕 Margherita - you can’t go wrong with a classic. San Marzano tomato, fior di latte mozzarella, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. 🍄 Truffle Mushroom Pizza - rich, creamy and definitely the one for the truffle lovers.
