It all started in 1969, in Albany, NY.
My grandparents, Lou and Beatrice, opened LouBea’s Pizza - a classic NY slice shop.

My dad followed suit, opening his own spots complete with soda fountains, pinball machines, and wild topping combos (alligator pizza, anyone?).

I grew up in those shops, answering phones, folding boxes and keeping up with my dad’s antics (he was a true joker).

But I took a different path - into global public health, two years on a farm in rural Nepal with the Peace Corps, a master’s in food systems, and a position at a major foundation. I thought I’d spend my life in the development sector, probably in D.C. with an aid organization.

One thing led to another, and Pizza Daughter was born, on the West Coast.

It pulled me out of a career I wasn’t connecting with - leading me to something special: a path rooted in food systems, community, and legacy. Pizza Daughter is my love letter to all of it, especially to my family.

Someday, I hope to open a pizza farm - a place to gather with live music, good beer, and ingredients grown on-site.

For now, I’m just honored to feed you. by @pizzadaughter
