I had the privilege of spending the past few days at the Grain Gathering hosted by the @wsu_bread_lab . This was my first time attending, and also somehow my first time at the Bread Lab. And it was an incredibly inspiring 3 days spent reconnecting with old friends and meeting lots of new ones, all in the name of supporting and strengthening our local grain economies & food systems. I think Seth from @smallsfamilyfarm said it best during yesterday’s panel (and I’m paraphrasing a bit here): “It’s not just about knowing where your food comes from, it’s about having a meaningful relationship with the folks who are growing and making your food.”I couldn’t agree more, and this philosophy informs just about everything I try to do with this microscopic pizza operation. In the spirit of this, before heading back to Seattle yesterday, I was fortunate enough to pay visits to my pals at @cairnspringmills , @ferndalefarmsteadcheese , and @sunnysideorganicfarm to pick up some really cool stuff that I’ll be using in the coming weeks (Roundbale is back!!).Thank you to the Bread Lab for hosting this very special gathering, and thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to come together in the name of local grains. Nerano.A personal favorite of mine. Week of 7/2 - 7/4Thurs (7/2) - @georgetownfarmermarket , 3-7PMFri & Sat (7/3 & 7/4) - Delridge Pizza Window BACK OPEN REGULAR HOURS, 5-8PM-Yes, the Delridge Pizza Window is back open this week, and yes, we’ll be open on the 4th. Also, one of my favorite summer pies from the past two years is back: the Nerano. A riff on Spaghetti alla Nerano, a classic pasta dish from the Sorrento Peninsula. It’s got a mix of some gorgeous summer squash from @hedlinsfamilyfarm , along with some Calabrian oil made with Calabrian chilis from @hayshakerfarm . We’re back at it this week after taking some time away to recharge and restore. First up is the @georgetownfarmermarket tomorrow (Thurs, 6/25) from 3-7PM.-Then, this Saturday, 6/27, I’m very stoked to be bringing the trailer up to @luckiefarms for a day on the farm with @wafarmlandtrust . The event is from 11-4, with pizza starting around Noon until sold out. Lots of fun stuff all day—farm tours, line dancing, and lots of hangs with animals (Highland Cows anyone?? 👀). Tickets available on a sliding scale with pizza sold day-of separately. A huge shoutout and thank you goes out to my friends @cairnspringmills @ferndalefarmsteadcheese who have graciously donated flour and cheese, as well as to @pccmarkets who have partnered with us for the event. And finally, thank you to @farmstandlocalfoods & @pugetsoundfoodhub for helping me get my hands on incredible farm produce and @samishbaycheese fresh mozz. I’m closing up shop everywhere this week—Thurs, 6/18 through Mon, 6/23—for some much, much needed time away. That means no Georgetown Farmer’s Market today, no Pizza Window this weekend, and no Molly’s Bottleshop this coming Monday. But come see us at @georgetownfarmermarket next Thursday, 6/25. Garlic Scape Pesto & Nduja-You know the drill: the Delridge Pizza Window is open tonight and tomorrow (Fri & Sat) as usual, 5-8PM.Preorders are live.Also, tomorrow (6/6) marks exactly one year of being open at the Window. Crazy, right? We’re not doing anything over the top for it, just rippin pies as usual. But I would like to take a moment to express my endless gratitude to all of our regulars, as well as all of the pals new & old who have made the trek out for some NLWF pizza over the past year. Greetings & salutations, fellow weary travelers. The time has come to unveil the next phase of Pizza Ritual: mobile fire. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, 6/4, I’ll be at @georgetownfarmermarket , where I’ll be set up most Thursdays through September alongside some very fine folks. I’ll still be open at the Delridge Pizza Window as normal on Fridays & Saturdays. Also, for now, I’ll be sticking with the roccboxes at @mollysbottleshop on Mondays, but hope to bring the mobile WFO up there soon. I have some other one-off events on the horizon, so keep your eyes peeled. I’m also open to any and all woodfired catering inquiries.
