Hi, I'm Lorenza, from Milan, Italy.
I'm 38. I studied anthropology, I have a part time office job in tech publishing and I also occasionally work as a cartoonist and illustrator (you can see my work on @mentaconiglio) both as a freelance and in a collective, @cargoviaggigrafici. I have two sons of 6 and almost 3.
My wardrobe is a combination of thrift finds, swapped items, old fast fashion, altered, handmade and some vintage pieces, so I usually mix all these things in my outfits. I love adding some fantasy/storybook character vibes to my practical everyday style. I especially like quirky prints, strong colours and natural materials. I have a tendency to overconsumption (I'm looking at you, Vinted!) and I'm trying to reduce my footprint by buying second hand first and buying less. This year, I'm trying #lowbuy2026: my rules are a maximum of 24 fashion/makeup/Sylvanian Families (I love them!) purchases, and for each purchase I have to responsibly rehome another item. I'm also trying to buy a maximum of 5 new items this year and document my DIYs.
I love to DIY, sew and handprint. I don't have much time to do it, but things are getting slightly better. by @pizzasaurusregina

We went to @zibocuochi that is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Milan and ate... almost everything on the menu between all of us. And everything was absolutely delicious!!!
These were the eggplant balls.

This was a gazpacho with peaches

This was shrimps fregola (a kind of bigger cous cous) with almonds, insanely flavorful

These were falafel with tzaziki, babaganoush and a pepper sauce, plus sprinkled pomegranate seeds

Vitel tonné, thinly sliced veal with a creamy tuna sauce, here with cured egg yolk

We "only" got two sweets, creme bruleé with licorice and a coconut and dark chocolate mousse

#lowbuy2026 September: I tried to join @vintage_aimee no buy knowing well there were high possibilities of failing because of Stressember and indeed I failed. I'm trying not to beat myself up over it and the fact that I already spent more on fashion than on the last two years (I can't understand how as I didn't buy anything so pricey, but I'll redo the math another time).
The good news is I got unstuck with my creativity and made many beautiful things.

Jacket revamp alert!
I was not wearing my plain ivory padded jacket and I was stalking applique jacket on Vinted when I understood I could turn mine into the jacket I wanted. First I tought of making the appliques out of jeans leftovers with contrasting pink/orange/red stitching. But I got stuck until I switched the colors of two of the patches with some quilting leftovers to suit my coloring and my wardrobe more. Using iron on tape to fix the patches in place and prevent some frying was a great help. Than I sewed them in place with contrasting embroidery thread, getting a bit creative.
I'm really happy about the result!

Fool around on Tuesday.
That's the name of the Mr. Pa statue I got from a friend (second photo) and I wish ot was true because I'm a bit overwhelmed. Here's what I wore to work, I tried to make this casual shirt look professional.
My friend also gave me a beautiful tarot inspired Calcifer pin and a Moomin keychain, totally perfect for me, I'm so moved!

Yesterday I got inspired and I made myself a scrap wrap with some doilies, a trousers' drawstring and an old wooden spool I got from my husband's granny. Not office friendly, but fun and fully reversible.
On Saturday I also learned how to crochet granny squares and I started working again on a jacket I was stuck with. I hope I found my creative spark again!

Ending favorites week of #wearyourjoy challenge by @vintage_aimee and @prelovedlotta with my super colorful overalls (the first photo was taken today at a fair where there was a truck prade, the second was taken last week).
I had a lot of fun with this challenge, thank you Aimee and Lotta!!!
I failed the no buy part, though, as I bought freckles makeup and, yesterday, a pair of work inappropriate street style jeans my 16 years old self would have loved.

Going to a children party, trying to be practical and to impress the moms.

First time wearing this incredible handmade reversible shibori jacket. I was saving it up for a special occasion, but I think it's a pity and moreover I needed some joy because this week work, my child's sickness, and life's logistics in general destroyed me and I'm dead tired.
