You know, it’s strange – I really didn’t see anyone who hates America today. In fact, it was a group of over 25,000 people who, like me, LOVE America and were there because they do. Laughing, joy, support, and kindness – these were the sounds and sights I heard and saw today. by @pjbovee

A few days have passed, but man, what a great concert Sunday night with the @sandiegosymphony ! It wrapped up an awfully fun summer between other shows with them and my @sandiegozoo gigs, and it was in such a cool way – celebrating music of the 90s. To say I was excited for this one leading up to it would be an understatement. I have a personal connection and/or a memory with every single one of the songs on the set list and it was a total blast to get inside of them and play them with this group, especially the homies in this killer rhythm section.

It was also such a fun treat to have so many family and friends there (some I knew would be there and some that were surprises), which made a great show even more fun! Thanks to those of you who sent pictures and videos. I appreciate it! taken in The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park by @pjbovee

The view sure doesn’t suck. Plus, getting to play ABBA – a large and much loved part of my childhood soundtrack – tonight with Rajaton, the San Diego Symphony, and a few of the coolest homies in the rhythm section? Fired up, ready to go!

Because democracy is so fragile, we march.

Because we stand up for what we believe in – liberty and justice for all – and we teach our daughter to do the same.

This was, hands down, the most inspired I’ve been in quite some time. The energy of the people – the massive amount of people – was incredible. In those few hours, I saw not a single act of violence or vandalism. I heard not a single slur or angry word thrown in any direction. I saw maybe 3 cops the whole time, because we were peaceful. This was an act of love. Love for our country and love for our fellow humans.

(Ok, ok … I used the word “hate” in my sign, but he’s the ONE person I think it’s ok to hate. Seriously, the guy sucks.) by @pjbovee

You know, I’m not one to post a ton, and I certainly try not to brag. I especially try not to fake any disingenuous humble-brags. That said, I sat on this for a few days and I’m just still really stoked and proud having run a damn marathon. So I’m bragging a little bit, dear friends. Deal with it. :)

I’m also already daydreaming about the next one.

Finally, lest you think this is all about me, there’s also a couple pictures of my kid being cute.

Look out, San Diego guitarists and bassists! We’ve got another player angling for our gigs…

Frannie did a little pit-sitting the other day and is ready to rock. Just 7 more shows of 3 Summers of Lincoln @lajollaplayhouse with the coolest band in town. Grateful for such a fun run with all these talented folks – on stage, under the stage, and off stage! by @pjbovee

A little while ago, we got some family pictures taken in one of our favorite places. We sat on them for a bit, saving them for the Christmas cards, and then never got around to sharing them here. Well, I was wearing this shirt yesterday and thought, “Hey … I should put a few of those up!”

Anyway, I don’t think a bad picture can be taken of these two amazing, fun, and beautiful ladies, but my pal @michaelpearcephotography always captures greatness, nonetheless. Thanks for a fun hang and the killer shots, buddy! by @pjbovee

Frannie’s birthday weekend photo dump:

First, any time I’m playing, it’s a good day. Any time I get to spend with my girls, it’s a good day. Add those together, getting to share an incredible gig with them, on the kid’s birthday? Come on!

As you can tell, Frannie loved her first time at the Shell and she’s been singing Journey for days now. She even got to come up on stage and help me load out after.

The next day, we took her to LEGOLAND for the first time (all of ours, actually) and had a blast! by @pjbovee
