Well… it’s official! 🙌🏼

I’m incredibly excited to share that I have officially joined the team at @yfc_wisc as the Area Director for Western Kenosha County, Western Racine County & Walworth County!

This is a full circle moment for me!

My passion and calling to reach students and reach schools was born while I was in college, when I watched God do something incredible in my own high school. What started as a small Bible club grew into a movement of 600 students gathering every Monday night in our high school auditorium for worship and the Word!

I saw firsthand what can happen when students are equipped and empowered to reach their friends for Jesus. It marked my life and ministry forever.

And now, all these years later, I get to help do it again.

I’m so excited to work alongside my longtime friends Osmar Aguilar and Nick Hubing to mobilize and equip students to reach their schools for Christ.

Thank you to every person who came out tonight to support Janet and I and our family, as we take this next step of faith. Your prayers, encouragement, friendship and belief in us mean more than you know. by @pjon

Journey Church, WE LOVE YOU DEEPLY!
We always have, and we always will.

For almost 25 years, you have been so much more than a church we have served, you have been our family.

Thank you for loving us as a young couple fresh out of Bible College! Thank you for walking with us through so many seasons of life and ministry! Thank you for loving our girls so incredibly well! Thank you for the countless prayers, memories, conversations, celebrations, tears, and moments we have shared together! And thank you for the incredible privilege and joy of serving Jesus side by side with you!

Through every season, our posture remains the same…
Our eyes are fixed on Jesus.
Our feet are firmly planted in Him.
And our hearts are filled with love for you.

We are praying for you. We believe Jesus loves His Church even more than we do, and He will remain faithful.

We absolutely LOVE what God is doing @wctocrossroads! Such hungry hearts for God’s Word and some of the friendliest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet!

We love and honor Pastors @pcraigwhite and Rachelle White! These two are the real deal! Faithful church planters who have given so much to love and serve people and build God’s Kingdom. They are HEROES to us!

And what made today even more special was getting to be with some of our very own, @kylelittel and @cassielittel! 🥹

Watching them lead and operate in their giftings is such a joy! We couldn’t be more proud of these two! We ALWAYS love our time together, and it’s NEVER long enough!

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately studying, reading, and re-reading Psalm 23. And last night, during a prophetic worship night, I felt the Lord highlight something to me in verse 2.

“He makes me LIE DOWN in green pastures.”
Psalm 23:2

Those words hit me in a new and fresh way.

Sometimes, God has to MAKE us lie down. Because if He doesn’t, we won’t.

We get so busy DOING. Leading. Serving. Producing. Moving. Striving. That we forget how to simply BE.

Last night, the Lord gave me a picture of myself as a little boy, lying on my back in a field of green grass, staring up at the clouds. Getting lost in a daydream. Dreaming about life. Letting my imagination run wild. Not a care in the world. No agenda. No schedule. No pressure to accomplish anything. Just a little boy enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.

And I felt the Lord inviting me back to that place.

A place of childlike wonder.
A place of stillness.
A place of dreaming again.
A place of rest.

Because that’s what a GOOD SHEPHERD does.
He leads us to green pastures. He brings us beside still waters. He restores our souls.

So this chair, in this sacred spot in our home, has become my green pasture.

A place where He invites me to lie down.
A place where I rest in Him.
A place where He leads me.
A place where He fills me again & refreshes my soul.

I’m learning that rest isn’t wasted time. It’s time spent trusting the Shepherd.

And here’s what I know…
HE IS MY GOOD SHEPHERD.
And He wants to be yours as well.

No matter what valley you find yourself in…
HE IS WITH YOU!

His rod and His staff bring comfort. His presence brings peace. And His goodness and mercy are still following you. by @pjon

I love what God is doing at Mt. Zion Christian Church! 🙌🏼

What a special weekend getting to be part of their Men’s Retreat at @lgyouthcamp and their Sunday services!

I’m so thankful for people with soft, tender hearts that are sensitive and obedient to the whispers and promptings of the Holy Spirit! There’s something so beautiful about watching God move in the lives of people who are willing to listen, surrender, and respond to His voice!

@rileysampson89, you are a TRUE SHEPHERD! You & @they.call.me.casey love and care for people so genuinely and faithfully. So grateful for your friendship, your heart, and the way you care for God’s people!

Thank you, Mt. Zion family, for welcoming me and allowing me to be part of such a special weekend! Excited for all that God has ahead for you!

It was such a huge honor to be in the room today and to speak and pray a prayer of blessing over Pastor @taylorcapple & @nathashaapple and the people of @freedomchurchwi!

This one is extra special for @janet_brown and I.

Nathasha grew up in our youth ministry, and we had the privilege & joy of being her youth pastors. Taylor came through Journey Ministry College as a student and intern and eventually became part of our youth staff.

Taylor and I also spent an inordinate amount of time & money at Starbucks over the years in weekly mentoring sessions, talking about Jesus, ministry, leadership, life, and dreaming about the future.

And now, to watch Taylor and Nathasha step out in faith and launch Freedom Church together is pretty incredible.

We couldn’t be more proud of you both. We love you. We believe in you. We believe in the vision God has placed in your hearts. And we are always in your corner & cheering you on!

My brother @pjon has served VERY well in ministry at the same church in Wisconsin for the past 25 years. That is extremely rare.

It was so great to celebrate his ministry to that church with many amazing people in the church. I am blown away by the love of the people for him and his family and how great of an impact he has had on people’s lives. Just know you probably do not realize the depth of how God is using you in peoples lives. Keep loving, keep serving, keep caring.

Jon, you are an incredible example. I’ve always looked up to you. I love you very much. I have zero doubt God is going to bless and take care of your every need and next steps. by @pjon

Our family is incredibly grateful for Pastor Tylre & Pastor Gina Butler and the @ourhopecity family today!

Thank you for giving Janet, me, and our girls a place to simply come, worship Jesus, breathe, and be poured into. Today was exactly what we needed!

Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for the words of life, encouragement, and blessing you spoke over us. Thank you for gathering around our family and praying over us. And thank you for the incredibly generous love offering. We have been completely overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity.

Tylre & Gina, we love you guys. Your friendship means more to us than you know.

One of the moments that hit our family deeply today was singing these words from Charity Gayle:

“In the waiting, You get the glory.
In the healing, You get the glory.
In the breaking, You get the glory.
And in the breakthrough, You get the glory.”

Jesus, may that be the posture of our hearts.
Whatever comes next, YOU get the glory.

Today was a gift to our family. We walked away reminded once again of the beauty of the Body of Christ.

24 years, 10 months, 16 days.

It’s hard to put into words what this evening meant.

For nearly 25 years, Pastor Jon, Janet, Bri, Bella, and Brooklyn have faithfully said yes to Jesus and poured their lives into the people around them. They have loved, served, encouraged, prayed for, and pointed countless people toward Jesus.

In less than a week, what started as an idea to celebrate and honor the Browns became an evening that brought hundreds of people together to show their love and support. People from all different places came together and simply asked, “How can I help?” They gave their time, gifts, resources, prayers, and hearts to make the evening happen.

And somewhere in the middle of it all, we got a beautiful picture of what the Church is meant to be: people loving people, serving together, and giving glory to Jesus.

I had the privilege of capturing the evening alongside @jesskentphotography_ + @heatherrose_photography, and these photos are a little glimpse of what the three of us were able to capture throughout the evening.

As I photographed Pastor Jon and Janet, I had a front-row seat to something that meant so much to me. Even though the room was there to celebrate them, they were still looking for opportunities to pour into others. They continued to encourage, speak life, pray, and point people back to Jesus.

After nearly 25 years, that kind of love doesn’t just happen. It becomes who you are.

I’m grateful I got to play a small part in this evening, but even more grateful that I got to witness it.

Brown brothers show up for each other.

We may have almost ripped each others heads off when we were younger but we also were each others biggest hype man.

And when 💩 hits the fan…

We still know we have each others backs.

Because life isn’t made of perfect moments, it’s a lot of wildly imperfect ones sewn together to make a pretty beautiful life.

It’s moments like these, we drop everything to show up.

Dropped what I thought was an ‘important meeting’ to fly over

Dan driving a semi truck full of sound and video equipment over and set up for a day and tear down til midnight

Family ain’t about being behind each other just when stuff is great (though these guys do that too) it’s about being there in the toughest moments too.
