Payton Jorgenson, MD, definitely has a nice ring to it.

Officially adding two more letters to my name, and subtracting several years of sleep. Thankful for MCW for introducing me to some great friends and physicians along the way!

To swimming,

Thank you for being the rock in my life for the past 17 years. Back before I was able to tie my shoes, I was in the water.

To my Piranha and Atlantis family, thank you for supporting me in the long club meet days.
To my Huskie family, thank you for being my family during the 3 hour practices in the dead of winter, leaving the pool in the dark and cold.

To my Pointer family, thank you for giving me the best 4 years of my swimming career. I wouldn’t trade this family for anything. From the early morning lifts, to the late bus rides on backroads of Wisconsin, I have been thankful to spend each and every moment with you.

Specifically, one person has seen me through every single period of this, my brother. You’ve been the biggest supporter, cheering me on. I’ve been incredibly blessed to spend many incredible moments in the pool with you.

To my coaches, Al & Stoffel, thank you for supporting me in all of my endeavors both in and out of the pool. I came into college very unsure of if I was going to stick with swimming the whole way through, yet somehow, they taught me in such a short time how to fall back in love with a sport that had become monotonous to me.

On some of the toughest days, the pool has been a place of calm and solace. A place where I’ve been able to stop worrying and just exist, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

As I hang up my cap and goggles for the last time, I am blessed and thankful for everything that swimming has taught me, and my Pointer family these past 4 years.

Swimming, you have been my rock and safe place for the last 17 years. While not every race has been the way I wanted, I am glad to have been able to be a part of a family and team that supports each other in everything they do.
