We spent Saturday at the 1st Annual James Bobbitt Memorial Clay Shoot.

It’s always a good day when the shooting community comes together for something bigger than the competition.

A great start to what will hopefully become an annual tradition. taken in Northlake Shooting Sports by @pkdiver

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a little over five months since Caden started competing in clay target sports. This weekend he shot his first registered NSCA tournament at the 3rd Annual @beretta_usa Classic @northlakeshootingsports, and to say we’re proud of him would be an understatement.

Results:

🥇 T-1st — Super Sporting
🥇 T-1st — 5-Stand
🥈 2nd — Main Event
🥊 11 Punches

Watching how much he’s grown in such a short amount of time has been pretty incredible, but weekends like this are about so much more than the scores. One of the highlights was finally getting to celebrate a couple of milestones that were long overdue. Caden got to send his hat flying for his second straight from last season, and we also got to celebrate his squad member Madison’s first straight with her own hat shoot. Having everyone there to celebrate both of them made it that much more memorable. Thank you coach @devinbarge for making this possible!

What made the weekend even better was the group of people we got to share it with. Caden has an amazing squad, and seeing these athletes shoot together, support each other, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, and just have fun has been one of the best parts of this sport. We had just as much fun hanging out with the parents all weekend, cheering on the kids, laughing, and making some great memories along the way.

Five months in, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where this takes him. Proud of you, Caden! Keep putting in the work and enjoying every minute of it. 🎯 We love you! taken in Northlake Shooting Sports by @pkdiver

As your dad, I’m proud of the targets you break, but I’m even more proud of the way you handle the ones you don’t.

Today wasn’t the day you hoped for, and I could see the frustration. But instead of letting it define the rest of practice, you worked through it. 💪🏻

Character isn’t built on the easy days, it’s built when things aren’t going your way and you choose to keep showing up anyway. 💯

Keep trusting the process. I’m so proud of you dude. Love you buddy.

USAYESS Nationals is in the books, and we couldn’t be more proud of Caden!

Competing against some of the best young shooters in the country, he stepped up to the challenge.

Highlights:

💥 Trap: 92/100
18, 25, 24, 25 (1 clay away from his first straight 75 and what a bounce back from round 1)

💥 Skeet Doubles: 82/100

💥 Trap Doubles: 77/100

What makes these scores even more special is that this was his first time ever shooting skeet doubles and trap doubles. To step onto the national stage having only been shooting for a total of 4 months, take on new disciplines, and perform the way he did says a lot about his work ethic, focus, and willingness to embrace a challenge. 💪🏻

Also a huge thank you to all of his teammates! Watching these young athletes support each other, celebrate successes, and push through challenges together in 100+ degree heat was one of the best parts of Nationals. 🙏🏻

To all of the parents, coaches, and families—thank you, too! The early mornings, long drives, countless practices, loading gear, keeping everyone fed, and cheering from behind the line are truly incredible. None of these opportunities happen for our kids without your dedication, sacrifice, and support. We appreciate everything you do!👏🏻

Nationals was an incredible experience, and we’re grateful to have shared it with such a great group of athletes and families. 💯
