One of the best parts of being on the board of the Catwalk Artist Residency is being able to attend events hosted by them. I had time to make some portraits last weekend of the folks who were up there for “Resonance” @ejfilice @sagivtamarcellist @ban_nonart @haguewilliams @merrybethnoble @devillecohen @jean_zimmerman_author taken in Catskill, New York by @pkfr

It’s always a blast photographing dance, and especially @marionspencer ! Marion’s piece “ecdysis” was performed @bridgestreettheatre during the @catwalkinstitute Resonance weekend, in conjunction with the Upstate Art Weekend. It was brilliant as always! by @pkfr

What a weekend up at Catwalk Artist Residence for their yearly Resonance event, part of the Upstate Artist Weekend. Lots of amazing talks, lectures, installations and performances! @marionspencer @sagivtamarcellist @ejfilice @ban_nonart Jean Zimmerman Sari Nordman…it played out like a the beginning of a bad joke….a dancer, two musicians, a painter, an arborist, and an environmental installation-ist walk into a bar…but oh what wonders ensued…thanks to ALL at @catwalkinstitute for making it happen! taken in Catskill, New York by @pkfr

It’s about the kids, right? The Big Slick, it’s all about the kids…It’s about the unimaginable. Kids, going through the unimaginable. It’s about a hospital, Mercy Children’s Hospital in KC, helping folks imagine a way through the unimaginable. The Big Slick, in its 17th year of raising money for the hospital. I work a lot of events, big Important events with a capital I.
This event also has famous people, a show with music and comedy, people taking pictures, fans, fun…all of it.

But all that melts away once you walk through those rooms, those hospital rooms. With the kids. This is an Important event, with the biggest capital I. Really, its giant. It also has the biggest heart. A giant, red, pulsing, vibrant heart. Because it’s trying to make a giant, red, pulsing, vibrant difference…It’s all about the kids… @bigslickkc @childrensmercy taken in Kansas City, Missouri by @pkfr
