Behind-the-scenes of this project for B 💐
She came in for a tarot reading first. Afterwards, we developed a design that would reflect her journey of strength and resilience, as well as echo her Chinese heritage using references ranging from pottery to architecture.

We will continue building this piece with elements from Qing hua （青花）and Dou Cai (斗彩）ceramics, as well as Chinese lattice in architecture.

Projects like these give me the chance to expand my knowledge of Chinese art history too 🙂‍↕️
After spending a decade of my life in Shanghai, it’s also nostalgic to study the elements I was used to seeing on buildings, in museums and on the dining table.

I’m looking forward to learning more about ornamental designs globally with every project we start together — especially living and creating in a multicultural society like Singapore. taken in Golden Mile Tower by @pkhrrt
