PUBLIC RESOURCES ARE NOT CAMPAIGN RESOURCES. Government funds, vehicles, staff and public media must not be used to give political parties or candidates an undue advantage. Section 99(2) of the Electoral Act 2026 prohibits the use of state apparatus, including the media, to advantage or disadvantage any political party or candidate. The INEC Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties, 2026, also prohibit this practice. The political environment must allow a level playing field for all candidates. As the 2027 elections approach, citizens must remain vigilant and speak up against the abuse of public resources for political gain.
