It was such a blessed experience performing this year at fair with Lobo. I’m truly in love with the sound that we can create together, and hope we can do many more gigs. I really feel like I’m starting to figure out this performance thing, I think and feel it’s only going to get better from here. I feel so grateful, I feel so thankful to get to rap on stage last night with @illuminaticongo at @thebigdirty.live last night. That experience was special to me.

*Oregon Country Faire 2026 Reflection Post*

The monarch butterfly makes a yearly migration and on that migration it visits the same bushes every year.
Oregon country Faire (OCF) for me is one of those bushes. A yearly check-in on where I’ve been and where I’m going and each year it offers new learning lessons and reflections. I am so grateful to be able to participate in OCF. In ways, it feels more important than my birthday, marking my growth as I migrate through the greater trajectory of my life.

This year at OCF my time was spent equally divided between sacred Service and sacred Play. I found much joy and meaning in both. On the service side, I felt called to show up for loved ones who were having a hard times at faire, I took care of numerous hearts and held space for numerous tears to fall, i showed people new to faire how to navigate the experience, I brought meals to friends tirelessly working at booths and even volunteered for free to wash nasty dishes for a friend whose booth could use help.

While not in service, I dedicated my time to play, I played with children, I turned sweep lines into limbo moments, I rapped and danced with friends and strangers, I told jokes and had people laughing, played with bubbles, and along the way collected a handful of glorious memories I will cherish forever.

I feel at home at OCF, more so than I do in this society I spend most of my time in. For me, OCF is a place of magic, and although I am a man of words, I struggle to articulate that magic to those who don’t go and ask me, “what did I do at fair to make it so magical?”

My response, “well I drank some water, I walked around with friends, we danced a bit, then we used the bathroom, then we walked around, drank some more water and saw some art, then we used the bathroom again. The magic is in everything that happens between drinking water and going to the bathroom. It’s in the magical Connections that happen and turn strangers into friends, it’s in those openhearted moments with friends, the serendipities (fairendipities) that reassure us we are at the right place in the right time

I’m excited, as well as nervous to be honest, to be performing tomorrow night as a DJ. This is one of my first Dj gigs. And I’ve wanted to lean into DJing for a long time, although fear of being imperfect has held me back. Well, guess what y’all, tomorrow night my performance will be imperfect, but I’m gonna have fun with it and my intention is to put together a set that you all have fun Vibin too as well. In this lil video, I talk about “calling in and calling out” in the context of cultivating community through conflict. That make it to the end of the video will realize I ran out of time. Lol.
