We (Plainjades and Yayyii) have come together in a creative collaboration where we’ve taken turns in the art process resulting in a unique artwork combining both of our creative expression.

The idea came from a game we did as kids, where you fold a paper a few times then take turns to draw the head, upper body, lower body and shoes to end up with a character with sometimes widely different body parts.

We used the same reference to each make one sketch, then swapping along the way. This is one of two artworks that came about this way.

This collab was so much fun, hopefully we can do something similar again in the future! Hope you like it 💗

This post summarizes my 2nd week of my daily drawing challenge.

On the day when I drew Toph I struggled with my time limit because there were so many differently colored sections. But I think I learnt a thing or two about how to work my layers because when I drew the mandalorian I didn’t have the same problem even if he has even more details.

Maomao and Jinshi 💚💜

I think they look so cute!
I did the sketch a while back during a car ride but i felt unmotivated to do lineart and coloring so its been sitting in my drafts until recently when I decided to try out using a vector layer. I think that was a life changing discovery for me. Now i wont have to spend so much time on lineart any more. I especially like the vector erase tool

This art piece is based on my randomized choices from @/samdoesarts reel from a while back. It was meant to just be a quick doodle for fun, but soon turned very serious.

As I sometimes do I got stuck in the seriousness of wanting her to look super cool and magical.. but self doubt made her sit in the drafts for quite some time until I managed to push though.

With this piece it’s so evident that i love drawing faces but have little to no interest in drawing backgrounds. Hence the massive difference in quality. Hope you still enjoy it!💙 by @plainjades

Im redrawing using the same reference as I used last aug and this is the result.

To my old selfs defence I didn’t push myself 100 % on that piece, I went fairly quickly because I wanted to focus on exploring the colors and textures rather than shape and form. Funny how 1 year later I notice new stuff, for example the subtle shadows around the corner of the photo. Ive also used very different colors and have a wider variety of colors. Ive managed to capture her subtle leaning in the pose too.

Overall very happy. Wonder if my fingers will itch to redraw her next year too..

I wanted to do a post to summarise my first week of “drawing to get over my perfectionism”. Figures you can make a lot of art in a week if you only have 1 hour per artwork 😂

I know it’s not really holding up quality to some of my artworks I’ve spent hours on. But I feel like they have their own charm! And I feel like I’m learning a lot about how I prefer to do my art process. I thank this challange for the chance to experiment a lot with my art.

Do you have a favourite among these? I think mine is Maomao with closed eyes 😌 that’s why I put her first 💚
