Today is brighter than usual, because we see the release of Lamentations.

This is a work of 4 tracks, which all sum together as a love letter, elegy, and soundtrack to the South West of England. A striking place, equal parts beauty and decayed grey-ness.

It was created all in a tiny room, as a childlike exploration of cool sounds. It was as simple as pushing the buttons of things which ought to have been left alone. It is a dark work, but myself and Josh see it as comedy.

There will be no extended promotion for this work. I consulted the manual and I can confirm that it simply wants to be listened to by those who are interested, and any forced attention might bring demonic forces into our lives. I would not force you to eat custard creams, despite my knowledge of their leading role in the lives of the best and brightest in society. You can simply find a packet of custard creams one day, by chance - you may even call them good, and move onward.

Lamentations is a swirling example of dark romance, a very melodramatic take on things. All of this would have been impossible without its producer: @joshua1 - The project has been seen many times live, this could never have possible without the chum with a hundred harmonicas @alexireneforever

Reduced to Rubble is now available.

It began on the Whiteladies Road in Bristol, as an intriguing song between myself and @charliefbutler - it ended up as a strange piece of work that I’m quite in love with.

With TS Eliot in mind, myself and @joshua1 intended to capture this abstract landscape of decaying villages, steam trains colliding, brutalist skylines, and dusty church pews. I think we achieved it, in a sprawling sonic vignette - it really isn’t very musical to my ears, but something interesting and challenging nonetheless.

This was a difficult work, there were times during its creation with @joshua1 where I was unable to listen it - it’s quite uncomfortable in parts, but the resolution really pays off.
