Celebrating 5 years at American Airlines today. From that early August morning knowing just 4 other PSA Airlines guys in class to just finishing my first European trips.
Many memories base hopping trying to hold CLT… via LAX, MIA, LGA, PHL… sprinkled in some PHX, DCA, and more LAX for fun.
From the excitement of squeezing out the last Airbus slot to seeing myself behind the controls of a 787 Dreamliner so soon.
Making the most of the layovers; beaches of Maui, mountain tops of Phoenix dodging rattlesnakes, exploring Alaska with a great Captain friend @stevedunn328 (oh and Crystal the Monkey), to Ireland to score great local whiskey to bring home.
Thank you for supporting my dream- family, mentors and instructors, NGPA, friends, and @brettballard whose been by my side. by @planearly

One month since closing on the house.

What started as Lookie-L👀s at an Open House turned into a serious push to find a house that suited us. A few disappointments in a competitive market (listings going in one day).

The perfect spot came along and we think it fits us much better than the ones we lost out on. A house to stretch out in, 2 blocks from so many bars, restaurants, breweries and still close to light-rail.

A front porch was a must, a big kitchen was a want, and a pool was a bonus.

It’s been a transition from small-space living (can’t find stuff) but the neighborhood is so cool. A cat even adopted us and visits regularly.

Home sweet home, come and see us! (Well once we set up a guest bedroom)

August was 7 years at AA. Getting more comfortable with foreign travel and spreading those wings much further… Doha, Buenos Aires, and Honolulu were the far reaches.

Sure, it’s very tiring to see the world one 24+ hour layover at a time, but I treat every trip like a vacation. Thoroughly researching and screenshotting so many ideas from best coffee or beer spots to most scenic excursions - looking at you Switzerland, the favorite.

Must do excursion for an Amsterdam trip in early spring. (15 April)

Weather almost scared me away (40s/downpours) but decided I should stick to my plan since this is so time specific. Ended up being wildly different weather every 5 minutes which enhanced the experience. Easy nonstop bus trip right from hotel area to the Keukenhof Gardens (40mins). This place is massive, the diversity of tulips (+much more) and the total landscape was magical.
79 acres and 7 MILLION bulbs planted.

🛫🏔ALASKA🏔🛬

🔷Last June was my last month on the Airbus before 787 training, so I tried to bid new destinations. I scored an Alaska trip! I learned one of my best Captain buddies was doing the same trip a day later. Moved a few mountains and we flew the same trip together.

These few pictures don’t do the experience justice. The Anchorage layover was very short and sandwiched between a Memphis overnight - Elvis hotel, pink Cadillacs, BBQ, and a long Denver - cocktail bar, new friends, drag brunch. It was difficult to keep the trip on track with thunderstorms and maintenance issues but we made it!

The flight was over 6 hours from Dallas but it was so beautiful flying up the Alaskan coast. Tall snow capped mountains with massive glaciers running into rivers and bays. Cruise ships below exploring.

We hit the ground running, a photo op at the Alaska mural followed by two breweries, and a rooftop dinner. The sun didn’t set until 11:40pm on one of their longest days of the year but we had an early morning.🔷
