PLANET OF SWN
7pm-9pm on www.sw20radio.co.uk
with @colhowarth

@planet_of_swn returns with two hours stacked full of new music from the independent and grassroots scene in Wales.

This week's show comes with some very special ingredients!

- A FIRST EVER radio play for the blazing forthcoming single HUSK from @grey_flx - MUST be a contender for the next Bond film! Jeff Buckley-esque vocals poured over soaring sonic soundscapes. A searing epic out on 17th April launching at @exchangebristol that very night - event times are 11pm - 3am!

- A peek at fellow Newportians @dj_alkemy and @fernquest collab with the track LOYAL 1s from their forthcoming 4-track ep - Win or Lose. Blending Alkemy's hip hop boom-bappery with Fernquest's urgent garage-grime vocals - out on 17th April.

- A peek at the forthcoming ep from @thronk_band - Kick Me When I'm Down - with a radio play for their ep track IDSPISPOPD - out on 17th April. Launching that night at Newport's @thecab_southwales

Also including tracks dropped just today from @brunagarciamusic and @ifan.dav plus so much more!

***THIS THURSDAY NIGHT***
***THE PLANET IS BACK!!***
***ON @sw20radio***

This Thursday @planet_of_swn returns for its first spin since the new year with @colhowarth presenting a two hour show crammed with grassroots and independent music from Wales!

The show will include a @thronkfest special featuring tracks from all the bands that featured at Newport's one-day punk fest at @thecab_southwales earlier this month.

I also chat to @thronk_band about the festival's origins and their massive year ahead, plus I chat to Joe Wag, owner of The Cab, about the amazing work they do for charity and all the good stuff that's around the corner for the iconic venue.

As well as all that, we will embark on a sonic trip across the grassroots and independent landscape of Wales taking in all the sights and sounds!

Come along for the ride!!!
It's temporary! It's momentary!

Massive congrats once again to @thronk for throwing the biggest and best hardcore punk party in the land at @thecab_southwales in Newport.

8 hours
10 bands
1 full house

@thronkfest was put on, not only to bring some of the very best punk bands together from Wales and beyond, but to raise funds for the legendary venue The Cab.

Amazing scenes on the night. Thronk ran out as the night's heroes, right at the heart of everything that's great about the scene, pulling together a stellar line up and smashing their own set along the way, with a little collab with @nutbushjimmylimits on their track There's No AI in Team.

If anyone mentions Thronkfest 3 anytime soon, then grab those first release tickets as soon as you can!

We're almost at the end of this series of pics from @thronkfest but there are still clips and interviews to share, plus pics from the @thronk set!

@thecab_southwales was rammed and topping off a day of insane hardcore punk were the amazing @face_upuk all the way from the Midlands.

What a live band! Totally in-your-face. They absolutely blew us away! Check out their latest album FU!

I've played the tracks Stand, Fight, Live, Die and Stand Together on the show to set the pace for the night! Go and check them out!

Next up: Thronk!
