What a freaking weekend! ✨ MONATIONS 2023 #photodump There are no words but I’ll do my best… If you’ve been here for awhile, you may know that I’ve been partnered w| a rapidly growing, premium global beauty brand that meets EU standards for two years now. Think ALL things hair, skin or wellness! Each year we’re invited to attend our annual conference + if I’m being honest, they’re my absolute favorite! We’re catered + poured into heavily by our CEO/guest speakers, whom I adore greatly. From new product launches being announced (we’ve JUST added skincare makeup). Eep! To new counties being added to our list such as Colombia + Mexico! We’re now in a total of 12! Sheesh! Last year our conference took place in St. Louis, MO with the one + only @tonyrobbins. This year we were in Los Angeles, CA + heard @danielg spit hot fire. “Don’t yell for @champagnepapi if you’re not going to yell for your business. @champagnepapi isn’t changing your life.” So much value + I always leave better than I arrived. Our brand is unmatched + I am forever grateful for my Mo’fam.To meeting + sharing space w| some of our New Zealand founders or those you’ve worked with online for years but never met in person. It’s an overall incredible experience + we’ll be in Orlando next year. Who’s coming with me?! Endless gratitude… especially for the ones who have supported + loved me on this incredible journey. My curls have changed SO much since I’ve started looking after my hair properly. Keep reading to find out what has changed. ⤵️ November 2021 was when I started to look after my hair. I took a leap of faith + started using new products after playing “product roulette” for sometime. ✨ What I did then: ⬇️⬇️ ❌ I never used a hair masque as a deep conditioner. God know how or why but I never did + when I started applying hair masques I applied on my ENTIRE head. This is a no no! ❌ I did not use a diffuser attachment on my hairdryer. This left me with A LOT of frizz. ❌ I never used a 13 mineral oil blend for hair scalp treatments. Healthy hair growth starts w| a healthy scalp. ❌ I never used a silk bonnet + silk pillow case in order to protect my curls. This prevents frizz + allows me to go longer inbetween wash days. I used to wash my hair everyday! ❌ Most of the time, I would apply curl cream + then air dry. If you are wanting more definition, which I did. Then this likely won’t do it for you! What I do now: ⬇️⬇️ ✅ I condition + deep condition to keep my hair moisturized, limiting frizz + adding more shine. Applying ONLY to mid-ends of hair! ✅ I use a diffuser attachment which evenly + more gently distributes the airflow from my hairdryer. This limits frizz + helps in maintaining curl definition. ✅ I use gel at the end of styling my hair to create a cast over the curls, which will prolong wash day results. ✅ I apply an oil scalp treatment 1-2x per week in order to promote healthy hair growth. And one last one, which is arguably the most important… ✅ I don’t beat myself up over “bad” wash days anymore, these are totally normal. Your hair isn’t going to look the same each time you wash it, though we could wish. Haha! Remember, that curly hair is a MASSIVE journey. It’s taken me time to create defined, voluminous + overall healthy hair after being CLUELESS to say the least! Don’t give up! The results are worth it! Trust. The. Maiah turned SIXTEEN on March 4th! 🥳 How do they not prepare us for these moments? Heart is overflowing w| joy watching this young, divine goddess grow throughout the days that turned into years. Beyond proud of her… she started her first job the day after she turned 16, by choice. Today is her first “hands on” day + I can’t wait to hear all about the “long day” she had. The mother of the year award (does not) go out to me! 😂 Heavily delayed, but our babygirl Ziona turned FIVE on November 10th + we were so blessed to have celebrated her in La Jolla w| family! It’s has been such a sweet treat watching her embark on her self discovery journey… she definitely knows what she wants + has zero shame in asking for it. Wild how at times, day to day, it feels like the weeks will never end but here I am sitting here wondering where 5 whole years went!? Truly feels like yesterday she was cozied up in my womb + a great reminder to self as to why I am so passionate about being an evolving, present parent for my children. Time waits for no one + effortlessly passes. It’s a true honor being trusted w| motherhood + I never take this gift for granted. Thank you, God!
