After spending most of the summer working on blaster builds, I’m relieved to learn that I still enjoy modding a blaster. It’s particularly satisfying when the mod results in a dramatic transformation.

The unwieldy and underpowered Fortnite AR-L, with its ludicrously overlong faux barrel, is now a compact SMG size.

The trickiest part was cutting down and shaping the barrel so that it would fit inside the blaster.

The shots pull to the right, but when you adjust, it’s fairly accurate. Wired for Lipo, with Valkyrie motors, Worker Smooth wheels, a 42.5mm crush cage, and 3D printed mod parts from Corvid Customs (available at https://www.printables.com/@CorvidCustoms_277282). On 2s, it’s doing a respectable 101-111 FPS average.

This will make a great loaner blaster for my fall and winter games. by @planetmynd

I love @mommalipsdraws ! I am blessed to have one of her prints adorning my walls. Her art speaks to me. Her energy connects with me. I love how she loves and lifts up community through art.
So when I saw her at #freshpaint2026 and she complimented me on my Hyper bucket hat (thanks @hypemurals ), I dropped by today with a gift.

I’m looking forward to another fun blaster battle with @crmkids this week. The last event, with 50+ players, was epic. I’m prepping some additional motorized blasters. They will deliver solid performance while keeping it a friendly sub-100 FPS.
Prepping some different game modes too. It’s about to get silly!
